Levomycetin Ointment is a bacteriostatic antibiotic. The pathogens of very many diseases are sensitive to chloramphenicol: pneumococci, staphylococci, gonococci, streptococci, brucellosis, pertussis, syphilis, etc.

Contraindications
Treatment with Levomycetin Ointment is prescribed in courses, since long-term antibiotic treatment can negatively affect the hemoglobin in the blood, in some cases drowsiness, depression, skin rash and fungal infections also appear.
When applying chloramphenicol topically to tissues, as a rule, no irritation appears, however, before the first use of the drug, it is still recommended to test it for an allergic reaction (in a small healthy area of the skin).
