Antibacterial drug "Avelox": instructions for use

The medicine “Avelox” describes the instructions for use as an antibacterial drug of the fluoroquinolone group, which by its action has a bactericidal effect against a wide range of bacteria and microorganisms. The manufacturer of the medicine is the pharmaceutical group Bayer (Germany).

Avelox is available in the form of tablets and an infusion solution.

The tablets have a convex oblong shape and pink color. The active substance of the drug is moxifloxacin hydrochloride, which is 436 milligrams per tablet. Excipients supplement the composition of the drug. The tablets are packaged in blisters of five pieces, which, in turn, are placed in cardboard boxes with the inscription "Avelox." Instructions for use are attached.

In addition, the drug is released in the form of a light yellow solution for intravenous administration. In the pharmacy network, it comes in bottles of 250 milliliters.

The drug "Avelox", being a powerful antimicrobial drug, is indicated for use in the following diseases:

  • acute form of sinusitis,

  • Chronical bronchitis,

  • pneumonia,

  • abscess of various types,

  • various skin infections.

The effectiveness of treatment for all of the above diseases is confirmed by numerous positive reviews about the drug "Aveloks." However, the price of the drug is quite high, so it would be advisable to pay attention to its analogues, which are more affordable at its appointment. For example, Floratsid is a medicine that is produced at the Obolensky pharmaceutical enterprise. The price of the medicine “Floracid” is three times lower than the price of “Avelox. An analogue of an expensive drug, however, is in no way inferior to it in the effectiveness of medicinal properties.

Take the medicine enough once a day at any time, without tying its intake to food intake. The daily dose of the drug is not more than 400 milligrams. The tablets should be swallowed without chewing, and washed down with a large (at least a glass) amount of liquid. This method of taking the tablet form of the drug is recommended so as not to destroy the shell of the drug, which should be consistent when consumed.

Therapy with the infusion solution is often used at the beginning of the course of treatment with the subsequent transition of the patient to "Avelox" in the form of tablets, but sometimes it continues to be used until the end of the treatment period. Avelox infusion solution is used intravenously. It should be administered slowly over an hour.

The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the disease and can be up to ten days.
