We are talking about the "Mentalist" - a series telling about a talented psychologist who helps the police in investigating the most complex crimes. In the center of the plot is a team of the CBD (California Bureau of Investigation), consisting of two detectives: Wayne Rigsby (actor Owain Yomen) and Kimball Cho (Tim Kahn), as well as the new beauty girl Grace Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti). Teresa Lisbon (actress Robin Tunney) leads this trinity. However, the highlight of the team is a consultant named Patrick Jane (Simon Baker).
Once in the past, using his knowledge of psychology, the ability to "read people" and incredibly developed intuition, Jane successfully posed as a psychic. Once he insulted on the air the famous maniac Red John, and he killed his wife and daughter in revenge. Now Patrick is desperately trying to find the killer using the CBD.
Most of the series is devoted to the search for Red John, however, in parallel, the group of Theresa Lisbon conducts other investigations.

If Patrick Jane is the central male character in the television series, then Agent Lisbon is female. She is a brave and responsible woman, this helps her to advance in the service. With the advent of Patrick in her department, everything went head over heels. Jane conducts investigations at her discretion, often without informing Teresa. And although his methods prove to be quite effective, for all his frequent violations of the law, Lisbon has to be puffed out as the head of the department. Theresa's work style is gradually changing under the influence of Jane. Oddly enough, this helps her become a much better cop than before meeting Patrick.
Theresa Lisbon's Life Before Patrick Jane Appears
Teresa Lisbon was born in an average Chicago family of six: a firefighter father, a nurse mother, and four children. When the girl was barely twelve, her mother died under the wheels of a drunk driver’s car. The head of the Lisbon family survived the loss of his wife very hard and began to drink often. Ultimately, he was so degraded that he stopped caring for children in general. Then Teresa, as the only girl in the family, took upon herself all the cares of the housework in the house, as well as of the brothers.
After the brothers grew up, Theresa decided to become a policeman. At first she worked in the San Francisco police, but later, thanks to a series of successful cases, she was invited to the CBD.

At the very beginning of her collaboration with Jane, Lisbon was very skeptical of his help. But pretty soon she became convinced that he was very good as a detective. Here are just his methods, often contrary to law, provoked vigorous protests from Theresa. In addition, Jane periodically did not inform Lisbon at all about his plans, plotting with other members of the group behind her, knowing that she would be against it.
In terms of personal relationships, Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon have been good friends for most of the series, respecting and sincerely caring for each other. In this tandem, Teresa plays the role of a mother or older sister taking care of restless Patrick. But over time, everything changes.
Before the capture of Red John, the creators of the television series maintained warm friendly relations between these heroes. Each of them had novels. It is noteworthy that Jane had deeper feelings for his passions, while Teresa Lisbon allowed herself only short novels, not opening up to the end emotionally. When the storyline of Red John was exhausted, all the attention of the audience was focused on the development of relations between Patrick and Teresa.
To make them think about their feelings, a new character was introduced into the plot - Agent Pike. Fascinated by Teresa, he invites her to a date, and soon they begin an affair, the culmination of which is Pike’s offer to become his wife and move to him in Washington. Watching all this, Jane begins to think about how he feels towards Theresa. Realizing that he loves her, Patrick manages to confess her love at the last moment, and soon they begin to meet.
The development of relations between Theresa and Patrick is devoted to the entire last season of the series. And if the first six seasons, the audience watched Jane and Lisbon as partners and close friends, then in the last season, Jisbon, as their fans christened, actively went through all the stages of a romantic relationship that ended in a wedding. In addition, it turned out that Lisbon was already expecting a baby. So thanks to Theresa after the capture of Red John, Patrick was able to get what he had lost and no longer wanted to find again - his family.

Robin was born Jessica Tunney, like her heroine, in Chicago. After leaving school, Robin wished to become an actress and entered the Chicago Academy of Arts. But she soon realized that the heart of the American film industry is Hollywood. Therefore, she moved to Los Angeles. Soon she was noticed and began to invite not small roles in various projects.
Before participating in the television series "The Mentalist", the actress (Teresa Lisbon became her most prominent role) Robin Tunney has already managed to establish herself well in the professional field.
