Biography
The future director was born on October 20, 1956 in a family of Irish Catholics. Danny Boyle's parents were very religious, his mother even dreamed that his son would become a priest. But when Boyle was 13 years old, the priest discouraged him from transferring from school to seminary.
After graduating from high school, Danny Boyle entered the prestigious Bangor University, where he studied English and dramatic art. During training, he met with actress Francis Barber.
TV projects
In 1987, Danny Boyle's television career began. At that time he acted as a producer of many television films, including Allan Clarke’s highly controversial short film Elephant.

In 2000, the director worked with Leonardo DiCaprio on the adventure drama Beach. Despite commercial success, critics did not like the picture. In 2017, Danny Boyle admitted that “The Beach” is not one of his favorite films.
