Scientists all over the world are constantly striving to find the most effective drugs for treating diseases. One of the priority areas is to increase the body's ability to withstand various infections. Therefore, chemical and pharmaceutical institutes develop strong bactericidal antimicrobial drugs with a wide spectrum of action. These include Dioksidin nasal drops.
The history of the "Dioxidin"
In stationary medical institutions of the Russian Federation, Dioxidin has been used as an antibacterial agent for about 30 years. Before that, for about 15 years, various experiments and clinical trials were carried out, which were summarized at the All-Union Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Chemistry in Moscow. The drug was developed on the basis of observation of the biochemical characteristics of more than two hundred substances of this series.
As a result, Dioksidin and Quinoksidin nasal drops were created, which is a modification of Dioxidin for oral use. Currently, both of these drugs are produced only in the Russian Federation. The reason for the development and use of this medication was its special chemotherapeutic effect, which was revealed during tests on various infectious pathologies, such as pyelonephritis and purulent meningitis, as well as on some others.
Composition "Dioxidine"
Currently, there are three main varieties of the release form of this drug. For example, Dioksidin nasal drops can be a one percent solution for external and intracavitary use, located in ampoules (0.01 L), packaged in packs of 10 each. 1 ml of such a preparation includes 0.01 grams of hydroxymethylquinoxylindioxide.
There is a variety of this tool, which is a 0.5 percent solution. It is also packaged in packs of 10 ampoules, each of which can include either 0.01 or 0.02 liters. In this case, the active substances contained in it of hydroxymethylquinoxylindioxide will be 0.005 g.
In addition to drops, there is a special ointment "Dioxidin" for external use. It is a five percent substance, packed in jars or tubes of 0.025, 0.03, 0.05, 0.06 and 0.1 kg. In this case, the amount of the active substance of hydroxymethylquinoxylindioxide is 0.05 g.
Indications for use
Drops in the nose "Dioxidine" have a bitter taste, yellowish color and completely odorless. Their action is due to the inhibition of DNA formation in the cells of microorganisms, while they do not have any effect on the formation of protein and RNA. The substance hydroxymethylquinoxylindioxide creates structural disturbances in the membranes of cells and the nucleotide of the microorganism with the inhibition of the action of toxins and bacterial nuclease.
The main areas of application of a drug such as Dioxidin (drops) is systemic drug treatment of severe forms of bacterial infections in cases where other antimicrobial agents are ineffective. It has a good effect on microorganisms such as vulgar protea, dysentery, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella bacillus, as well as staphylococcus, salmonella, pathogenic anaerobes.
In addition, Dioksidin drops are prescribed in the nose for an adult with many types of rhinitis, to prevent or stop the development of sinusitis and other infections of the ENT organs. Usually they are applied 4-5 times a day with a few drops in each nostril.
However, it should be borne in mind that "Dioxidin" is one of the strongest medical chemicals, therefore it is very rarely prescribed for children . The main cause may be the development of sinusitis. But in any case, it should be used carefully, in accordance with all the recommendations of the attending physician and constantly monitor the occurrence of possible side effects.
Side effects of this drug can be expressed depending on the individual intolerance of the chemical. But the main ones are headache, chills, muscle twitches and dyspeptic symptoms. Usually, antihistamines and calcium are prescribed to prevent these phenomena in combination with Dioxidine. If necessary, reduce the dose or immediately seek the advice of a specialist.
