There are many recipes based on them, according to which they prepare amazing cakes, pies and other goodies. One of them is a shortbread cake with plums. Shortcake with plums: German recipe
For the filling, you need to take small rather than large, elastic plums. Such ones retain their appearance better, which means that they will look more aesthetically pleasing in the finished pie. The amount of ingredients is calculated for servings for 4 people.
A set of ingredients:
- plums - 300 gr (25 pcs);
- flour - 180 gr;
- an egg (or rather, its yolk);
- sugar - 80 g;
- oil - 80 g;
- baking powder - 1 spoon (h.);
- vanillin - 1 sachet.
How to make a German plum shortbread cake. Stages
- Mash butter with a fork, mix with regular and vanilla sugar, add the yolk. Stir.
- Mix sifted flour with baking powder.
- Combine flour and butter, cook the dough.
- Put on the bottom of the prepared form, place plums on top. They must be cut in half, and still need to make an incision to the middle of the lobule. Plums must be laid upside down with convex sides down.
- Oven in oven at 180 degrees for 45 minutes.
Shortcake with plums - "Strasbourg"

How to make Strasbourg plum shortcake
- Make shortcrust pastry (as in the previous recipe).

Description of the cooking process
- Make a regular shortbread dough.
