One of the most popular and inexpensive varieties of fish is herring. It makes delicious dishes that are served even on the festive table. For example, “herring under a fur coat” is a trivial salad for all occasions, but today we will not talk about this dish. From this fish, we will prepare healthy herring oil using inexpensive ingredients. This is a great alternative to store pastes that does not contain harmful dyes and GMOs.
Gentle herring butter with cheese and apple
Ingredients:
-Two lightly salted herring.
- Soft or processed cheese 100 g.
-Cooked carrots.
-Two hard-boiled eggs.
- Sweet and sour apple.
-150 g of softened butter.
-Onion.
-Bulgarian pepper.
- Beetroot juice 20 g for color.
Herring preparation: we wash the fish in cold water, clean it from the skin and bones. Cut the whole fillet into small pieces.
Finely chopped boiled and chilled eggs and carrots, do the same with apples and onions. We send all the ingredients together with herring fillet to a blender or meat grinder and beat well.
In a separate bowl, mix the cheese with butter. To the resulting creamy cheese mass we add chopped sweet pepper, herring butter and a few tablespoons of beetroot juice. All must be thoroughly whipped.
The ready-made mass should be well cooled in the refrigerator before serving - an hour will be enough. Such a simple appetizer will delight the whole family with its delicate taste. Herring oil can be added to mashed potatoes or spread on crispy toasts.
There is a simpler and classic recipe for this appetizer. To do this, you need herring fillet, spices (pepper, salt) and 100 gram butter. We similarly chop, grind and mix the fish with the listed ingredients. Leave in the cold for 40 minutes and consume. Everything is simple and delicious!
In fact, herring oil can be prepared in various variations and with the addition of a variety of products - it all depends on your preferences and imagination. Prepare, for example, an original herring paste (butter) with an unusual combination of ingredients:
-one herring;
- salted gherkins (100 g);
soft cheese (100 g);
-boiled potatoes (100 g);
-vegetable oil;
-green and spices;
- food wrap.
Too salty fish should be kept in milk for half an hour, and then taken apart from bones and skin. Next, you need to beat the fillet in a blender, add boiled potatoes, cucumbers, cheese and a little vegetable / olive oil there. Finely chopped greens (dill, cilantro) and black pepper in a thick mass. At your discretion, you can use other seasonings and weed.
We take the cling film, put our billet on it and carefully turn it into a roll. Everything, now it remains only to cool. Believe me, this herring roll deserves the highest marks - this is a real treat that is eaten in a couple of minutes. If desired, herring caviar can be left as is and used as butter, paste or caviar - as you like. In any interpretation it turns out amazingly.
