"PC-Merz": analogues, instructions for use, reviews

In the article, we consider the instructions for use with PC-Merz, reviews and analogues.

The drug is an antiparkinsonian drug, which is made on the basis of the active element - amantadine sulfate. Forms of release - tablets and solution for infusion.

Description

This medicinal product stimulates the release of dopamine from neuronal depots, significantly increases the sensitivity of dopaminergic receptors to this substance, due to which, even with a decrease in the level of dopamine production, optimal conditions are created for stabilization of neurophysiological processes in the structures of the basal ganglia. In addition, amantadine has a slowing effect on the generation of nerve impulses in the motor neurons of the central nervous system. At therapeutic concentrations, this drug inhibits the production of acetylcholine, providing a pronounced anticholinergic effect.

Analogs "PC-Merz"

Analogues of the PK-Merz medical product are the following drugs:

  • Neomidantan
  • Midantan
  • Amantine;
  • Pronoran;
  • Madopar
  • Yumex.

A doctor should select a replacement.

Neomidantan

The medication “Neomidantan” is a dopaminergic, antiparkinsonian drug, an analogue of “PK-Merz”. It is effective in bradykinetic and rigid forms of parkinsonism: it increases mobility and activity, reduces muscle tone. To a lesser extent affects tremor. Amantadine (the active element) blocks NMDA glutamate receptors, acts as a dopaminergic substance, promotes the release of dopamine from neuronal depots and increases the sensitivity of dopaminergic receptors to it.

In addition, this medicine has an antiviral effect, inhibits the penetration of the virion into the cell and the release of viral genetic material.

It is well absorbed in the digestive system, the maximum plasma level is reached after about 4 hours.

Indications for the use of the drug "Neomidantan" are: parkinsonism (including due to the use of certain drugs), Parkinson's disease, postherpetic neuralgia, prevention and early treatment of influenza type A.

This medication should be taken orally after a meal. This medication is made in capsules, which are swallowed whole and washed down with water. In Parkinson's disease: 100 mg per day, 1 week after the start of therapy, the dose is increased to 100 mg 2 times a day, usually in combination with other anti-Parkinsonian medications. The interval between doses is at least 6 hours. During treatment, addiction can develop, so after a while it is necessary to increase the dosage. The maximum dose per day is 400 mg. For people with kidney failure and in old age, the dose is reduced.

Let us consider other analogues of PC-Merz.

Midantan

The drug "Midantan" is an antiparkinsonian substance that belongs to the category of symmetric tricyclic adamantamines. The drug is a blocker of glutamate NMDA receptors (including those localized in the substantia nigra), which reduces the excessive stimulating effect on the neostriatum of cortical glutamate neurons, which in most cases is accompanied by insufficient production of dopamine. In addition, this drug element reduces the intake of Ca2 + ions into neurons, reducing the likelihood of their destruction. The drug "Midantan" has an anticholinergic property.
