Sinus tachycardia: is it worth it to worry?

If we talk about such a pathology as sinus tachycardia, it should be noted that this disease is characterized by a malfunction of the heart rhythm, that is, instead of the usual 70, the heart rate rapidly increases to one hundred or more. What is the reason for this anomaly? As it turned out, the sinus node provokes such an accelerated impulse, but at the same time all the structures of the heart function in the usual mode, and the sequence of work of the ventricles and atria is debugged, that is, here we are talking about increasing the automatism of the sinoatrial node.

This phenomenon does not reveal itself in any way, and you can notice it only when performing a planned ECG or when calculating the pulse. As for the age category, it should be noted that young organisms are most often affected by sinus tachycardia, which is immensely promoted by the immaturity of the nervous system, because, as you know, the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems are responsible for normalizing heart rate .

In order to understand how to get rid of tachycardia, it is necessary to track the dynamics of this pathological process. So, motility of the sympathetic nervous system is observed as a result of the release of adrenaline, which entails high blood pressure and pulse, and motility of the parasympathetic nervous system has an absolutely opposite effect. During normal functioning of the body, both of these systems are mutually balanced, shifting as necessary to one side or another, but remaining normal.

In young people, such a balance is very shaky, since the two departments of the nervous system constantly "compete" with each other, which is why sinus tachycardia worsens, significantly disrupting the usual heart rhythm.

However, it is worth clarifying that there can be many external causes of this pathology, including physical work, stress, fever, thyroid disease, smoking, anemia. And, despite the fact that sinus tachycardia in itself does not harm health, the pathogenic factor of its exacerbation can adversely “come around” on the general condition of the body.

Symptoms of this pathology, unlike other types of tachycardia, are relatively mild and very often occur in the complete absence of any complaints from the affected body, rarely the patient clearly feels a heartbeat, excessive drowsiness and increased fatigue, and learns about the prevalence of tachycardia, exclusively counting your own pulse. One way or another, sinus tachycardia requires timely medical diagnosis, which consists in performing an electrocardiographic examination. It must be clarified that mild, moderate sinus tachycardia with functional impairment does not require medical treatment. But if other forms of tachycardia have been identified and fixed, it is necessary to undergo a course of productive treatment.

Sinus tachycardia is treated in stages, but first you need to reliably identify the cause that caused its progression. Basically, after treatment of a characteristic disease that caused tachycardia, the disease goes away. It is extremely rare to recommend special medicines that soothe the "emotional" rhythm of the heart. In such cases, small doses of B-blockers are prescribed, which can eliminate such an abnormal phenomenon as sinus tachycardia in a matter of minutes.

From this we can summarize: the treatment of such cardiac dysfunction completely depends on its type and cause of exacerbation. Often enough to eliminate the pathogenic factor to restore normal heart rhythm. Medication is sometimes recommended , and surgery is much less common. One way or another, you must be vigilant about your "motor".
