Childhood
Gnatyuk Dmitry Mikhailovich, whose songs everyone knows and sings, was born on March 28, 1925. His hometown was the Ukrainian city of Mamaivtsi, which is located in the Chernivtsi region. Previously, this area belonged to Romania, and the village was called Staroselye.
The family of the famous baritone was simple and hardworking. The parents of the future star singer were peasants: Mikhail Dmitrievich and Maria Ivanovna. The family was large with six children. Dmitry was the eldest, so when his father left for the city or on business, he always left him for the chief.
It is known that the father of the famous baritone was a participant in the battles of the First World War, where he lost his leg. Therefore, instead of his leg, he had a wooden crutch. The family lived not richly, but enjoyed authority among fellow villagers.
Gnatyuk Dmitry spoke excellent Romanian. The boy went to a local school and studied well. His favorite pastime was to spend his free time on the outbuilding of the stable. Education
When the war of 1941-1945 began, Gnatyuk Dmitry Mikhailovich at that time graduated from eight school classes. When the native village was occupied by the Germans, the whole family went to evacuate to the Sverdlovsk region. In a city called Nizhnyaya Salda, he graduated from ten classes and immediately went to work. So in 1944 he became a steelworker.
When the war ended, Dmitry Gnatyuk, whose biography is full of events, returned to his homeland and immediately he was offered a job in the local music and drama theater. But even in this theater named after Olga Kobylyanskaya, he did not work for long, since not only the audience of the theater liked his vocal data.
Soon, the famous baritone was followed by a job offer. He was invited to the Kiev State Conservatory. Since 1946, for five years, he studied opera and chamber singing.
Theatrical career
As soon as Dmitry Gnatyuk graduated from the Kiev Conservatory, he was immediately hired and rejoiced by the troupe of the Opera and Ballet Theater named after T. Shevchenko in the Ukrainian city of Kiev. But the post of director of this theater, as well as a director and artistic director, he took only twenty-eight years later. But by this time he had performed many parts and was famous not only in our country, but also abroad.
Not only in his native theater Gnatyuk Dmitry Mikhailovich managed to work over the years. So, the famous baritone and famous artist staged his performances at the Solovyanenko Theater of Opera and Ballet in Donetsk, as well as at the opera studio, which was opened at the Kiev Conservatory. The famous baritone and pop singer Dmitry Mikhailovich died on April 29, 2016. The cause of his death was a disease that had overcome him for many years. He was ninety-two years old. And two months later his wife died, with whom he lived a long and happy life. The grave of this beautiful artist is in Ukraine.
