Heart attack: symptoms and first aid.

Unfortunately, today there are more and more cases of heart attacks. They say that in order to defeat the enemy, you need to know him by sight. This enemy will not be an exception, which, alas, has no face, but from time to time kills people. All doctors unanimously claim that if there are signs of a heart attack, then it is necessary to act quickly, because in such cases it is not important the years or even the days - every minute is important.

So, let's figure out what a heart attack is, which has a second name - myocardial infarction. In essence, this is tissue necrosis due to the fact that it ceases to receive the blood supply necessary for its vital activity.

Doctors specializing in cardiology highlight some symptoms of a heart attack:

  • fast heartbeat;
  • nausea;
  • dizziness;
  • excessive sweating ;
  • choking (in some cases, can be expressed as heartburn);
  • pain in the sternum or in the left arm;
  • discomfort in the throat, back or jaw.

Such symptoms occur for half an hour and cannot be muffled by any (even potent) drugs.

There may also be a situation where no symptoms appear during a heart attack - it is very dangerous and, as a rule, most often threatens people with diabetes.

If suddenly you feel the same symptoms, then try to contact the doctor as soon as possible or even better - call an ambulance. Just in this way you can save your life, as it is possible for a maximum of three hours from the moment you feel uncomfortable. A heart attack whose symptoms pass inaudibly is the most dangerous and since it is more likely to occur in diabetics, they more often die from heart attacks.

If a heart attack occurs, the symptoms of which you began to feel, you need to take some action.

1. Sit on a chair, and even better on a chair, preferably with armrests. If there is no suitable seat, you can lie on the bed and put something under the head of the bed. After that, take 0.25 g of aspirin and 0.5 g of nitroglycerin (if after taking these pills you begin to have weakness in the body or sweating - do not take them anymore, and if this reaction of the body to taking medications appears, drink some water).

2. Make your breathing easier - try to free your neck from objects squeezing it (scarf, scarf, collar, etc.).

3. In the event that the heart attack, the symptoms of which you feel, does not recede, urgently call a doctor or emergency care. In the meantime, while help arrives, take nitroglycerin every 10 minutes. Even if the pain and discomfort have subsided, still call at least a family doctor so that he will examine you and draw appropriate conclusions about your condition.

Remember a very important rule that you must strictly observe if you have a heart attack. The symptoms you feel are a sign that you donโ€™t need to walk and it is advisable to rule out any movement at all.

It is strictly forbidden to use nitroglycerin for those people whose blood pressure is below the established norm.

And finally, I would like to note what you need to say to the doctor on duty at the time when you call in order to call an ambulance. First of all, be sure to indicate exactly where the pain occurred and where it is given, indicate the exact or maximum approximate time of when it all started. Tell us about the drugs you took and what the effect was. Be sure to include your address or location and other facts that you consider important.

Remember that in such a situation every minute is precious and even with your correct call to an ambulance you can already save a personโ€™s life.
