The 2015 comedy directed by Dan Mather based on the script by John Phillips is not a very original and somewhat vulgar project, while it is wildly charming for the audience, condescendingly perceiving spicy jokes. The film "Grandfather of easy virtue" (front-line actors - Robert De Niro and Zac Efron) is structurally a cocktail of classic road movies and youth comedies about parties, parties and their consequences.
To convince, the creators added a few nostalgic everyday wisdom to the story, but the picture still does not surprise the plot. The film was not particularly joyfully received. Immediately in four nominations, the picture went to the Golden Raspberry 2017, becoming a kind of leader of anti-awards, despite the fact that quite popular actors starred in it. It is not surprising that reviews of "Grandfather of easy virtue" is neutral or frankly negative. The rating of the tape according to IMDb is 6.00.
Short storyline
The plot of "Grandfather of easy virtue" partially explains the motives of a radical change in the life principles of the main characters. One of the main characters, Dick Kelly (Robert De Niro), dies. He lived forty years in a happy marriage, but his lover killed cancer. The tragedy that led Dick to think about the short life and encourages him to go into a real gap. Kelly takes Jason's grandson (Zach Efron) with him to meet the adventures, a promising lawyer forced to interrupt preparations for the wedding with the selfish Meredith (Julianne Hough). Grandfather and grandson are sent to conquer the beaches of sunny Florida, where Dick instantly becomes the king of youth beach parties. Perhaps it is for such a simple story that the comedy “Grandfather of easy virtue” received moderate reviews.
Robert DeNiro
Whatever they say about Robert De Niro’s creative career, he is truly a great artist. In Dirty Grandpa, he is never ashamed of him; the performer works with maximum efficiency. During the casting, Michael Douglas and Jeff Bridges were considered as the key character.
