Deep-Fried Cheese Balls - Great Appetizer

Deep-fried cheese balls are a real pleasure that is equally enthusiastically received by both children and adults. Of course, deep-fried food can in no way be classified as healthy food, but it is so delicious that sometimes you can treat yourself to "harmful".

In addition, deep-fried cheese balls are a great addition to beer, so if you are planning a beer party, you should prepare this appetizer. Moreover, the simplest foods are needed, and it’s not difficult to prepare a dish.

Two hundred grams of hard cheese will require two eggs, two tablespoons of flour, breadcrumbs, seasonings and vegetable oil to prepare deep fat.

Cheese is best taken hard varieties, but, in principle, this dish can be prepared even from ordinary processed cheeses. Three cheese on a grater (if we use processed cheeses, they should be pre-frozen in the freezer, then it will be easier to grate them). Now add the protein of one egg to the cheese and mix well, adding spices and salt to taste.

Now prepare the batter. To do this, take the remaining yolk and a whole egg and beat with salt and flour until smooth. Pour breadcrumbs onto a flat plate. As a breading, instead of ordinary crackers, you can use sesame seeds. Now everything is ready for the formation of balls.

Take a teaspoon and make balls of cheese mass with it. It is important not to roll them up too tightly so that they remain airy. Then we put the resulting ball on a fork and dip it into the batter, and then roll it in breading. Put the finished ball on a cutting board or dish.

It is most convenient to fry balls in a special deep fryer, but if there are no such dishes in the house, you can use a cauldron or a fryer. To save oil, it is more profitable to take dishes with a narrow bottom and high sides. Pour oil in the dishes in such an amount that the balls immersed in it float freely, and heat it to a boil.

Fry our deep-fried cheese balls until golden brown. We remove the finished balls with a slotted spoon and transfer to a dish covered with paper towels. When excess fat drains, balls can be served to the table. It is better to eat them hot while the cheese inside is in a molten state.

These deep-fried cheese balls can also be filled. In this case, when forming a ball from the cheese mass, you will need to put in the middle of the nuts, a piece of ham, prunes or whatever you consider necessary to use as a filling.

Well, if there is no cheese in the house, then as an appetizer for beer or an original side dish, you can prepare deep-fried potato balls . For this dish, boil 5-7 potatoes and mash them, adding fifty grams of butter and two raw eggs. Puree the mashed potatoes thoroughly (it is easier to make it with a mixer), and then add starch or flour in it in such an amount that a mass suitable for forming balls is obtained. We roll small balls from potato dough (you can put the stuffing inside) and fry them in deep fat, in the same way as described above.

Well, if instead of a beer party a pleasant tea party with sweets is planned, then it is worth preparing deep-fried curd balls. Let’s rub a pack of cottage cheese (200 grams) through a sieve, add two and a half tablespoons of sugar, the same amount of semolina and a spoonful of soft butter. Beat the egg with a pinch of salt and add to the curd. Mix everything and let semolina swell for half an hour.

We form a ball from the curd dough (you can put a nut, zest or a slice of prune inside) and roll them in semolina. You can prepare breading for balls from a mixture of crackers and ground nuts. Then fry the balls in a deep fryer or in a cauldron. Ready-made curd balls can be sprinkled with powdered sugar mixed with vanilla or cinnamon, and served at the tea table.
