Lentil is also a champion in the content of folic acid among legumes. A regular serving of lentils provides 90% of the body's need for folic acid. This gives a good cancer prevention. In addition, it also contains isoflavones that can inhibit breast cancer. No culinary treatment is even scary for them.

This plant is also different in that it does not accumulate any toxic and harmful elements, due to this, recipes for preparing lentils and all dishes from it can be considered environmentally friendly.

A common way to cook lentils is to make a side dish out of it. You can take it 350 grams and put in a pan. Add to it a chopped onion, one clove of garlic, a sprig of thyme and a bay leaf. All this is filled with water and brought to a boil. Cook for 30 minutes until soft. After cooking, drain the water and remove the added herbs. Season the finished portion with vegetable oil.

There are also recipes for cooking lentils - cutlets from it. To prepare them, red lentils are boiled with a small amount of water. Fried onion, one chopped red pepper and one clove of garlic are added to it. The cooked puree is cooled, and cutlets are made from it, roll in flour and fry on both sides until brown. Serve such cutlets well with sauce.

Recipes for cooking lentils such as chowder are common. To prepare it, take 2.5 liters of water, a pound of lentils, two heads of onions, carrots 250 grams, bay leaf, garlic, salt and pepper to taste. Cooked lentils with vegetables for three hours with frequent stirring. If the stew is very thick, then you can add water to it.
