Labyrinth is a structure that consists of intricate moves leading to an exit or leading to a dead end. It can be used, for example, as a decorative pattern, logo or puzzle. And in this article we will look at how to draw different mazes.
Classic maze
The Cretan labyrinth is considered classic, and you can know about it from the legend of Theseus and Ariadne. And you can draw a maze in five stages:
- Draw a cross and put four dots in the corners of a fictional square.
- Connect the top of the vertical strip to the top right using a curved line.
- Another curved line, combine the right edge of the horizontal strip with the top point on the left.
- Draw a large curved line from the left edge of the horizontal strip to the lower point on the right.
- Pull the vertical strip from the bottom and combine its tip with the lower point on the left.
Round maze
To draw a labyrinth with a more complex structure, draw eight concentric circles, after leaving a small circle for the center of the labyrinth. Concentric circles are called circles of different sizes, but with a common center.
To simplify the task, number the circles from one to eight, starting with the largest.
In the center of the maze, draw a flower-shaped figure. This flower should be perfectly symmetrical, that is, if a straight line is drawn through its center, then two identical halves should be obtained.
Draw two lines horizontally and four vertically through the maze without crossing the center. These lines must match the radius of the maze. In addition, they must be placed at the same distance from each other.
Wipe the lines to create maze moves. Start with a horizontal bar on the left and wipe the lines in the first, second, fifth, sixth and seventh circles. Also wipe off part of the seventh circle. When wiping unnecessary stripes, do not forget to make the width of the maze paths equal to the distance between the circles.
Wipe the vertical strip in the first circle, leaving the rest untouched. Also remove the parts of the third, fifth and seventh rings.
Remove the horizontal strip in the circle at number seven, and the parts of the second, fourth and sixth circle.
Wipe the vertical line, which is located first on the left, near the third, fourth and seventh ring. You do not need to touch the second vertical line. Also wipe the third vertical strip on the left next to the seventh ring without touching the rest.
To complete the moves, continue to wipe portions of the lines in each circle. In the first circle, erase the part that is between the first and second vertical stripes. In the second and sixth rings, delete the fragment between the first and third stripes located vertically, as well as the element on the left. In the third, fifth and seventh circles, erase the part between the first and third vertical lines, as well as the part to the right. In the fourth circle, remove the fragment between the second and third lines drawn vertically. At the eighth ring, erase the element between the same lines.
Simple maze
To draw a maze with a pencil, first draw a square. Wipe two small parts in it. They will be the entrance and exit of the maze.
Draw another quadrangle inside the first square. Wipe off the three parts of the second square.
Continue to draw squares inside each other and wipe them in several parts, creating passages. In the center of the labyrinth, you can add several rectangles nearby and also make moves in them. Inside these rectangles draw a few more squares.
Select the only correct way to the exit and block the rest of the lines with lines. Recheck the opportunity to go through the maze in other ways and block all the extra passages.
How to draw a maze for children?
Draw a rectangle on paper and create an entrance and exit for the maze.
Divide the maze area into 6 identical cells. Do not press hard on the pencil when drawing, because these lines will need to be wiped.
Each sector must be connected to only two other sectors, and the path from the start point to the finish line must go through each cell. Try to make the path through the cells intuitive.
Locate critical points that allow you to move between cells.
Erase the boundary of the sectors at critical points to form a path between the two cells.
Place the boundaries of your links. After that, draw the new cell borders. The boundaries between sectors must be in contact with each other.
Draw the moves inside the “chambers”. The tracks should be about a centimeter wide, and their borders should be one line wide, drawn in pencil. Do not create dead end paths inside cells.
Solve your maze. Make sure that you do not accidentally block a critical point and that the maze can only go one way.
How to draw a labyrinth in the cells?
To draw a maze, you need a sheet in a box and a pencil. The faces of the labyrinth in this case will be cell lines or diagonal lines drawn through the cells. First, decide where your maze will begin and end. Create a rectangular outline of the maze and fill its entire space with various moves. You should start drawing from the center, adding false paths along the way. However, be careful not to accidentally block the exit path.
