Soaked apples are a long-forgotten recipe for homemade preserves. Few housewives salt or, as they say, “wet” the fruit in tubs in order to put a fragrant, slightly sour snack on the table in winter. You will need:
- 5 liters of plain water;
- 200 gr. granulated sugar;
- a tablespoon with a slide of salt;
- cherry and currant leaves;
- fresh apples - how much will go.
If you intend to
preserve fruit in three-liter jars, it is best to choose their medium size so that they freely crawl into the neck. If you have a
wooden tub, in this case, the size is not important. First, sterilize the jars in boiling water, at the same time you can boil the marinade - pour salt and sugar into the indicated amount of water, let it boil for about 5 minutes, then cool the liquid. Cover the bottom of prepared canning jars with leaflets and start laying apples (previously washed) - you can put larger fruits on the bottom, and smaller ones on the top. Now pour the apples to the top with the prepared marinade, cover the top of the jar with gauze and place it in a dark place to roam. After a couple of days, foam forms on the surface, it must be removed, if necessary, add the marinade - remember that the liquid should always cover the fruit. For cooking you will need:
- 20 kilograms of apples (if you have less, reduce the number of other ingredients proportionally);
- 500 gr. good honey;
- a pound of prunes (dried fruits);
- a pound of bran;
- 10 liters of water and 50 gr. salt.
