Today in pharmacies you can find a huge number of painkillers - tablets, suppositories, ointments, syrups or injection solutions, which people often call one word - “injections”. Ortofen is a drug from the group of non-narcotic analgesics. The active substance is diclofenac. Indications
The medicine "Ortofen" (injections), the instruction recommends for inflammatory pathologies in the joints. Indications include rheumatism, rheumatoid arthritis, gouty (chronic), ankylosing spondylitis. The medicine is prescribed for degenerative pathologies: osteochondrosis, deforming osteoarthrosis. The medication is recommended for neuralgia, sciatica, lumbago, tissue pathologies outside the joints (rheumatic lesions, bursitis and tendovaginitis), myalgia. Indications include post-traumatic pain syndromes complicated by inflammation, postoperative conditions, primary dysalgomenorrhea, acute gout attack, migraine attack, adnexitis. Ortofen injections are prescribed for colic (renal and hepatic), infections in the ENT organs, and for residual pneumonia.
Dosage regimen
The method of use is determined by the doctor in accordance with the patient’s condition, severity of symptoms, tolerance. Ortofen injections are given intravenously or intramuscularly. The maximum daily dosage is 100 mg. After alleviating the symptoms, the amount of the drug administered is reduced to the minimum maintenance. In the postoperative period, in acute conditions, 75 mg is injected into a vein or muscle once, in severe cases, twice a day. The introduction is carried out from one to five days, depending on the course of the disease. Subsequently, they switch to the oral form of the medication.
Contraindications
Ortofen injections are not prescribed for hematopoiesis of an unexplained nature, hypersensitivity (including other NAVP), peptic ulcer, bronchial asthma, exacerbations and destructive inflammatory bowel pathologies. Contraindications include age up to six years, as well as pregnancy.
Side effects
Ortofen injections can provoke disorders of the gastrointestinal tract: nausea, diarrhea, flatulence, anorexia, vomiting, NSAID gastropathy (damage to the stomach in the form of erythema on the mucosa, ulcers, erosion, hemorrhage). Against the background of treatment, a liver disorder, drug hepatitis, interstitial nephritis, pancreatitis, and headaches may occur. The medicine can provoke agitation or insomnia, dizziness, swelling, fatigue, allergic reactions of local manifestation, aseptic meningitis. The negative consequences include pneumonia (eosinophilic), erythema multiforme, Lyell syndrome, bronchospasm, erythroderma. Ortofen injections also cause purpura, photosensitivity, hair loss, systemic anaphylactic reactions, and hematopoiesis disorders (leukopenia before agranulocytosis) in some patients. Against the background of intramuscular injection, burning sensation, abscess, accumulation of infiltrate, necrosis in adipose tissue may occur. During therapy, disorders of the cardiovascular system, convulsions, increased blood pressure, visual impairment and sensitivity may develop.
