The real name of the artist is Kharkovets, but later he took the creative pseudonym Trubach, because he has been playing the trumpet perfectly since childhood. Little Kolya studied at an ordinary rural comprehensive school. From an early age he showed interest in music, especially he was impressed by brass bands. The boy watched classical concerts with bated breath, so his parents sent him to the trumpet lessons. This skill helped the boy become part of the children's pop orchestra. Also, Kolya was allowed to perform at weddings with older children.
After leaving school, rich experience allowed him to enter the second year of the music school without exams, which he graduated in the specialties of “trumpeter” and “conductor-choir”. Then there was military service, where he, of course, ended up in a military band. There he began to write songs, and shortly before demobilization, he made test recordings that were heard by music producer Kim Breitburg. He became interested in the work of Nikolai Trubach and brought him together with Eugene Fridlyand, who decided to unwind the novice artist.

Career evolved measuredly. Nicholas wrote songs that gradually became increasingly popular, but it was still far from universal recognition. In 1998, Friedland decided to take a risky step, which was to transform the trumpeter into a star overnight. The artist wrote the song "Blue Moon", which was included in his second studio album. Initially, Nikolai Trubach performed her solo, but the producer suggested making a duet. Yes, not with anyone, but with Boris Moiseyev himself, whose scandalous fame was supposed to explode like a bomb. The calculation was correct.
