This simple dish is the European response to the famous American counterpart - “hot dog”. But if a French dog is considered (in particular, the same French gourmet) a more refined and delicate dish than a hot dog, then in appearance and method of preparation it is not much different from its staff member. What is needed for this fast-food meal? First of all (and this is one of the differences), buns for French dogs. It can be special bakery products, but at home, a French loaf (long) is perfect, it is also called a “baguette”, cut into pieces, corresponding to the size of sausages. So:

- 4 sausages.
- Pickled cucumber.
- Head of red onion.
- A tomato.
- A little Provencal mayonnaise, a bit of hot ketchup.
- A bit of mustard.

Cooking
- We print out the sausages and free them from the shell (if it is not natural).
- Boil or fry on the grill (very convenient if you are in natural conditions, for example, on a picnic).
- We cut the baguette portionwise and also heat it on the grill (or in the microwave, if in the kitchen).
- Dice the vegetables into smaller ones.
- We take out the middle of the heated bun.
- In the resulting hole, drip mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, rammed vegetables (but without fanaticism - there will also have to be a sausage).
- We put the sausage in the hole, and on the edges we coat with ketchup additionally, but not too much.

Such a simple recipe is the best solution for any picnic in nature, when you do not want, for example, to “bother” with barbecue, pilaf, fish soup, but you just wanted a delicious meal.
