One gets the impression that modern cinema is no longer able to surprise anyone who does not want to spend their time on banal paintings. However, this is not at all true.
There are films that can not only surprise an inexperienced viewer. They can really scare, and not with sharp screams, but with something more terrible. They show on the screen such things from which the blood runs cold, and the viewer cannot utter a word, as what is happening on the screen simply does not lend itself to any explanation and goes beyond all possible limits. A prime example is The Tusk, a 2014 film made by Kevin Smith.
Plot of the film
An ordinary young man who is engaged in podcasting and loves immoral jokes very much , is forced to go to Canada to interview an guy who accidentally cut off his leg when playing with a samurai sword. Upon arrival, the protagonist finds out that this guy is dead. However, he doesn’t want to return without a report, so he goes to a country house to the old sailor, who has many interesting stories behind him. This man seems like an ordinary sweet old man, but in fact he turns out to be a real nutter and serial killer ...
