One of the common medications for the treatment of various origins of vaginitis is the Klion-D suppository. All these are signs of the inflammatory process taking place on the sheath of the vagina, or vaginitis, one of the treatment methods of which are Klion-D suppositories. Since they have a pronounced antifungal and anti-inflammatory effect, their use is indicated both as part of complex therapy, and as a monotherapy.
Description of the drug
Suppositories are available in packages containing 10 vaginal tablets of a specific almond-shaped form, which facilitates their insertion into the vagina. Usable tablets have a uniform white color, which coincides both on the surface of the candles and on their fracture. In case of color change or its inconsistency, it is better to refuse to use.

The instruction provides two types of use of the drug, depending on the specifics of vaginitis.
- with trichomonas vaginitis, they are prescribed as part of complex therapy, combined with metronidazole inside, 1 suppository daily for 10 days;
- with candida or nonspecific vaginitis, Klion-D suppositories are used 2 times a day for 10 days. Ingestion of metronidazole is possible in the acute course of the inflammatory process, and the decision on its appointment is made by the doctor on the basis of laboratory data.
In any case, before intravaginal use, the suppository is removed from the package, moistened with water at room temperature and inserted deep into the vagina. After this, it is necessary to spend some time at rest, so it will be advisable to use the drug "Klion" -candles for the night.
During treatment, sexual activity should be abandoned, even with the use of barrier contraceptives. At the same time, a mandatory factor in successful treatment is simultaneous therapy in both sexual partners, regardless of whether they have one of the expressed symptoms of the inflammatory process.
Contraindications to the use of vaginal suppositories "Klion-D"
There are two main groups of restrictions on the use of this drug. The first includes the following restrictions:
- impaired coordination of movements ;
- liver failure;
- lactation (period of breastfeeding);
- first trimester of pregnancy;
- lesions of the central nervous system;
- diseases of the blood and circulatory system;
- hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
- age to 18 years.
In all these cases, the use of Klion-D is completely excluded.
The second group of contraindications involves the careful use of the drug under the strict supervision of a doctor and only in cases of urgent need. Such cases include:
- pregnancy in the second and third trimester;
- renal failure;
- neurological diseases.
Side effects
Candles "Klion-D" rarely lead to various manifestations of side effects, but in rare cases, allergic reactions in the form of a rash on the skin, fever, nasal congestion are possible. There may also be manifestations from the digestive system: colic, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, pancreatitis, the appearance of a metallic taste in the mouth.
