Many family problems did not arise yesterday. Problems of loneliness and divorce have always existed, but somehow did not attract much attention. If you get divorced, then there is a reason. Perhaps someone is to blame or something is changing in the relationship. For better or worse, you should not judge. But to figure it out is another matter.
And a little sentimental, sometimes funny, somewhere lyrical comedy “Adult Games” will help in this. Actors not only played a huge number of performances in the country, but also visited this comedy abroad. The excellent basic composition of the performance for two hours first creates an atmosphere of mystery, in the spirit of Agatha Christie, known to everyone, and then gradually leads the viewer to a climax and denouement.
The cast of the play
The director of the production of "Adult Games" Sergei Artsibashev built the play on the peculiar identities of the actors and some elusive similarity of characters. A tragic figure - a sincere and awkward Albert Donet, who buried the artist in himself. He was talentedly played by Daniil Spivakovsky in a duet with the eccentric and relaxed Yvonne Fouche (Daria Feklenko), his ex-wife from a comedy.
Until the culmination of the performance, the mysterious handsome Anre Bouville (Victor Zaporizhsky) walks around the hall until the regal Gabrielle (Alena Yakovleva) appears, creating a finished duet in which they unfold from an unexpected direction. And, finally, the serious but jealous Claude Pichon (Alexander Shavrin) and the height of the grace of Mariette Livier, played by the actress Olga Prokofieva, who is loved by everyone for comedic roles.
Who is who, or plot plot
Scene - a luxurious restaurant in Paris. A table is served for six persons. On stage, Claude Pichon with a glass of champagne. Albert Donet enters through a double door. A conversation ensues in which they try to understand who else and why was invited to a dinner party by the lawyer who led their divorce proceedings. After a while, the front door opens and another man appears. This is Andre Bouville. He, as it turned out from the conversation, is also divorced, moreover, his wife also died. But the case of divorce was also led by Paul Gerard.
All three men begin to assume that the next three people will be women. Although they do not exclude the possibility of a lawyer coming with his wife. But then, who else will be with them? Andre leaves for cigarettes, and Claude goes into the toilet room. The restaurant remains Albert. And at this moment, the charming actress Olga Prokofieva enters the room. Stop! In the play, this is Mariet. She came to Gerard's dinner party.
Conducting a conversation about those invited to dinner and explaining why she came too, Mariet begins to flirt a little with Albert, letting him know that after the divorce it was time to go out with people. So, leaving the restaurant hall and returning to it, all those invited to a dinner party gathered. Moreover, these are three couples whose divorce lawyer Gerard was involved in.
Games begin
And gathered in a restaurant all Gabrielle, the former wife of Andre. She is alive and beautiful, but for Andre she died, because she said that she would give a divorce only through her corpse. As it turns out during the play, the couples broke up, but each of them really can’t answer the question why.
Being alone in the restaurant hall, couples in the course of the play could, without falsity, sincerely show their feelings. Communicating with the former half, each hero of the performance resurrects his memories and begins to understand what mistakes he made. To some extent, the games suggested by Gabrielle help this.
First, she asks everyone to just walk around the room and stop at some point. And somehow, the divorced spouse is standing opposite her ex-wife. So the magnet exists! They continue to be attracted to something inexplicable, rather, at the subconscious level. By the way, in the reviews of the play "Adult Games", many drew attention to this silent scene - the former spouses froze against each other.
Question and Answer Game
The second was a question and answer game. Here it was necessary to answer two questions. The first was the question that the former spouses did the worst for each other during their life together. Answering him honestly, each hero survived his situation and realized how stupid and biased it was. This inability to understand and accept your partner, from the revelations of Claude and Mariel. Or excessive dissolution in his partner, as was the case in the family life of Gabrielle and Andre. This is the burning of bridges in the relationship between Yvonne and Albert due to a misunderstanding with love letters.
And how touching were the answers to the second question that the ex-spouse did the best and most pleasant. Yvonne and Albert returned to their memories and admitted that even on the day of separation, their breakfast was held in the same warm atmosphere. But do they understand the letters (understand at that time Yvonne that the spouse had burned the letters just because he wrote other, warmer and more passionate), there would not be this stupid divorce.
Afterword
The curtain is drawn, the audience slowly leaves the hall. What does everyone think about after the play “Adult Games”? Reviews are different, as always. For some, some scenes evoked a smile, while others burst into tears. But many have changed their view that "you will not enter the same river twice."
