The pharmacological effect of the drug "Pyobacteriophage complex" instructions for use are described as follows: it is able to specifically lyse streptococci (including enterococci), staphylococci, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli, Proteus.
Indications for the use of this drug are:
- inflammatory pathologies of the ENT organs, lungs and respiratory tract (otitis media, sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, tracheitis, laryngitis, pneumonia, bronchitis, pleurisy);
- various surgical infections (mastitis, infected burns, purulent wounds, phlegmon, abscesses, hydradenitis, carbuncles, paraproctitis, panaritium, osteomyelitis, bursitis);
- urogenital infections (cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, endometritis, salpingo-oophoritis);
- digestive tract infections (gastroenterocolitis, cholecystitis, intestinal dysbiosis);
- inflammatory-purulent pathologies in newborns and infants (pyoderma, omphalitis, conjunctivitis, sepsis);
- generalized forms of septic diseases.
For the purpose of prevention, the preparation “Pyobacteriophage complex” recommends its use for the treatment of both freshly infected and postoperative wounds, as well as for epidemiological indications - in the event of nosocomial infections.
Contraindications for the appointment of this drug include only hypersensitivity to its individual components. The drug "Pyobacteriophage complex" recommends taking the instructions for its use inside. With enterocolitis, intestinal dysbiosis, the drug is recommended for use three times a day, an hour before meals, for adult patients - thirty milliliters.
The medicine “Piobacteriophage” for children who are not yet eight years old is prescribed in the following doses: up to six months - five milliliters per dose; from six months to one year - ten milliliters; from one year to three years - fifteen milliliters; from three to eight years - twenty milliliters.
Rectally, this medicine is taken once a day in an enema, combining this method with an internal double dose. The drug "Pyobacteriophage complex liquid" in this way is administered to children up to six months of age: at one time - ten milliliters; from six months to one year - twenty milliliters; from one year to three years - thirty milliliters; from three to eight years - forty milliliters; from eight years and older - fifty milliliters.
For the treatment of purulent inflammation occurring with localized lesions, the drug is applied topically for seven to twenty days. If chemical antiseptics were applied to the wound surface prior to treatment with Pyobacteriophage Complex, the wound must be washed with a sterile physiological solution of sodium chloride.
The treatment of purulent wounds with the “Pyobacteriophage complex” preparation recommends its use in the form of applications, irrigation, dressings, and administration through drainage at least once a day. After opening and removing pus from the abscess, the drug must be administered in a smaller volume than the contents were removed from its cavity. You need to administer the medicine once every day - from twenty to two hundred milliliters.
With osteomyelitis, from ten to twenty milliliters of this medicine should be administered through the drainage or turunda into the wound cavity.
In the treatment of such limited cavities as articular, pleural and others, "Pyobacteriophage complex" is introduced in a volume of up to one hundred milliliters.
