Candide cream contains clotrimazole as an active ingredient. Excipients: liquid paraffin, white petrolatum, propylene glycol, anhydrous and monosubstituted sodium phosphate, benzyl alcohol, emulsion wax (cetomacrogol), purified water, methylparaben, butylhydroxytoluene, propylparaben.
The pharmacological properties of the drug are due to the presence of clotrimazole, which is an antifungal agent in a wide range of effects. The substance belongs to the group of imidazole derivatives. When used topically, clotrimazole practically does not penetrate into the bloodstream and does not have a systemic effect.
Candide cream is used to treat superficial mycoses caused by yeast-like, dermatophytes, molds and other fungi that are sensitive to the active component; mycosis of the feet and folds of the skin; pityriasis versicolor, mycosis with complication of secondary pyoderma, onychomycosis, erythrasma.
This drug is applied externally daily two to three times. Before using the medication, the affected area must be washed with soap of neutral pH and dried. After the treatment made in this way, the Candide cream is rubbed with light massaging movements. A medicine is applied to everything, including hairy, affected areas.
The duration of therapeutic use is assigned individually and depends on the location of the lesions and the severity of the course of the disease. As a rule, the duration of treatment for dermatoses is three or four weeks. But it is recommended that therapy be continued for two weeks after the symptoms of the disease have been resolved. Treatment of pityriasis versicolor and erythrasma usually lasts about three weeks.
Candide cream is not prescribed in case of hypersensitivity to clotrimazole and other components of the medication.
The drug, as a rule, is well tolerated by patients. Rarely, in case of hypersensitivity to the components, a local allergic reaction in the form of erythema, tingling and burning sensations in the area of application of the cream can develop. In case of side effects, the drug is canceled.
Medicinal cream "Candide" is intended for use only in dermatological practice. Application in ophthalmology is not allowed.
In the process of treating onychomycosis, it is necessary to monitor the condition of the treated nails. They should always be cut short and have a rough surface. This will allow the active component of the cream to penetrate more deeply.
Due to the lack of systemic effects, the drug has no restrictions on its use in the prenatal and lactational periods. However, the use of this medication over a long period is not recommended.
Do not use the drug in combination with other ointment preparations, since the effectiveness of candida is reduced.
An overdose with topical application of the cream is unlikely and not able to pose a threat.
When conducting a therapeutic course, the drug is recommended to be used by both partners, since in most cases the causes of diseases are infections transmitted through sexual contact.
