Meatballs with potatoes in a pan: preparing a hearty dinner

How can you feed a large family on a satisfying and budgetary basis? Of course, you need to use minced meat and potatoes. These products hardly have any fans. We will treat our home tasters with our favorite meatballs. The recipe is simple. Therefore, even a novice cook will cope.

For lunch, we offer tender meatballs with whole potatoes stewed in aromatic sauce. Component List:

  • Minced meat - half a kilogram of finished convenience food.
  • Three bulbs of medium diameter.
  • Large carrots - one piece.

Here it is - a universal recipe. It can be used to cook minced meatballs with rice and gravy and then served with mashed potatoes. But we will use the recipe a little differently. First, make and fry meatballs, then continue to conjure over a delicious and nutritious dish.

Take deep dishes. It can be a small pan or any suitable bowl (cup). We wash half a glass of dry rice in several waters. Cook until tender by adding a pinch of salt. Let’s cool the rice.

Minced salt. Usually, half a teaspoon of a semi-finished product is half a teaspoon of fine salt. Add some pepper here. Break the egg. Mix all the ingredients for the meatballs with potatoes in a pan.

We wet our palms in cold water and, taking about a tablespoon of minced meat, form a gingerbread man from it. We continue until the whole meat semi-finished product turns into round billets. You can roll each in flour. But if your skillet has a non-stick coating, it can handle without breading.

Pour a generous amount of vegetable, non-aromatic oil into a thick-bottomed frying pan. It is necessary that each piece turn out to be 1/3 in boiling fat during frying.

We heat the prepared dishes. We spread the meatballs and fry over medium heat for 2-3 minutes. As soon as the blanks are covered with a crispy crust, turn them over to the second side and repeat the frying. Cover with a lid a minute before cooking.

Wash and peel the potatoes. We will do the same with carrots. Onions also get rid of inedible parts.

Grind onions as you like: rings, cubes or half rings - everything fits. It is advisable to leave the potato round, but if it is too large for you, then for cooking meatballs with potatoes in a saucepan according to the recipe, it is better to divide it into two or four parts.

We pass to the final stage. In the pan we spread the finished meat products. We send potatoes to their surface.

Boil the required amount of water. Pour the contents of the pan with this water. Now add salt, pepper, bay leaf. We put the pan on the stove and wait until the potatoes begin to boil.

Our meatballs will be bright and fragrant. Therefore, we will not waste time. It is necessary to cook the tomato sautΓ© until the potatoes are ready.

Previously chopped onions and chopped carrots (in this case they usually use a grater of any fraction) are sent to a pan where our meatballs are fried. Turn on the stove at a temperature slightly below average. Fry vegetables until the onions are transparent, stirring them occasionally. Add a thick tomato paste. Squeeze out all the garlic here, using a press for this purpose. You can just finely chop the cloves. Cover with a lid for a couple of minutes. Then open, stir and turn off the saucepan.

As soon as the potatoes begin to boil, moderate the heat. Thus, root crops and meat products will maintain their integrity. We remove the scum that has appeared from the surface of the cooking dish. We continue to stew potatoes with meatballs in a pan, covering the dishes with a lid, until the root crops are ready.

A few minutes before completing the cooking, put the frying of vegetables and tomato directly into the potato pan. The final boil. We wait two to three minutes. Turn off the stove. If desired, you can add any greens: fresh or dried. Cover the pan with the finished dish. We tolerate another half minute to spread the aroma. Everything! You can call everyone to the table and take for a treat.

If a tomato does not suit you for any reason, then this dish can be prepared without its use. Fry vegetables as described in the recipe. Then we send them to the pot with potatoes and meatballs. We also boil for a couple of minutes, and delicious food is ready.
