Usually on the eve of the holiday, we begin to look for new interesting recipes for the upcoming party. I would like to pleasantly surprise guests with something new and show off my culinary talent. It just so happened that most often chicken is prepared from poultry. But today we suggest you to step back a little from the usual direction and prepare another treat. Let's bring a little variety. We will share some recipes for the most delicious dishes in which the duck will be used. In honey mustard sauce, it is especially tasty.
Duck in honey mustard sauce
The combination of products like honey and mustard is already unusual in itself. But in fact, such a marinade will give a beautiful crust to a bird, add meat to its spicy taste and aroma. Duck in mustard sauce is prepared very simply and does not require special culinary skills.
You will need:
- duck carcass;
- salt pepper;
- 2 tbsp. honey (liquid) and mustard.
How to cook:
Rinse and dry the duck well. Mix salt and pepper and rub the bird well inside and out. If desired, you can add your favorite spices. In a separate bowl, mix the mustard with honey and grease the duck with this marinade (inside too).
We grease the baking sheet a little with oil, put the duck on it and send it to the oven (180-200 ° C). Periodically water the carcass with the allocated fat, it will be abundant on the baking sheet. Duck in honey mustard sauce should be covered with a beautiful appetizing brownish crust. Then it can be checked for readiness. Poke the meat in several places, if there is no blood - the bird is ready. It will take about an hour or a little more to cook.
Duck in honey-orange sauce
An unusual duck recipe in honey sauce with orange zest, but you will certainly like it. We will add a little garlic with ginger to make the taste and aroma more piquant.
You will need:
- 1 kg of duck meat;
- 1 lemon
- ½ orange;
- 3 cloves of garlic;
- 2 tbsp honey;
- vegetable oil;
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar and soy sauce;
- some fresh ginger, salt and pepper.
How to cook:
Rinse and dry the meat from moisture. Rub with a mixture of pepper and salt. Put on a slightly greased baking sheet and bake in the oven at 200 ° C for an hour.
In the meantime, prepare the sauce. Finely chop the ginger (a piece of 3 cm is enough), garlic and orange zest. Preheat the pan, add a spoonful of oil and fry ginger and garlic on it. Add honey, and when it becomes liquid, add vinegar and zest. Hold on the fire for another three minutes, stirring constantly. Pour in soy sauce, squeezed lemon juice and a couple of tablespoons of water. Boil another 5 minutes.
Place the duck meat in the cooked sauce and hold it on the fire for a while so that it is fed with it. Duck in honey sauce is ready, you can invite to the table.
Duck with apples in honey mustard sauce
This dish will look great on a Christmas table. There are no difficulties in its preparation, and a duck in mustard sauce, and even apples, is just an overeating.
You will need:
- the whole duck;
- 2 tbsp. honey and mustard;
- 3 apples (sour);
- salt, pepper, turmeric.
How to cook:
Wash the bird and dry it thoroughly. Mix salt, pepper and ½ tsp. turmeric. With this mixture, rub the carcass inside and out.
Cut the apples into slices and stuff the duck with them. The edges of the skin are fastened with a toothpick. It remains to grease our bird with a mixture of mustard and honey.
Send the bird to the oven for one hour. Water the duck periodically with the allocated fat. The more often you do this, the more beautiful the crust will turn out.
Duck with dried apricots, prunes and apples
Such a duck in honey mustard sauce will be an adornment of any holiday. Fruits nourish it with their aromas, and mustard sauce with honey will give completely unusual notes of taste.
You will need:
- the whole duck;
- 2-3 unsweetened apples;
- 100 g of dried apricots and prunes;
- 2 tbsp. mustard and honey;
- salt, pepper and favorite spices.
How to cook:
Wash the bird and dry it with a towel. Mix dry spices with salt and rub our bird well with them. For the filling, mix: chopped apples, dried apricots and prunes. This mixture will fill the abdomen of a bird and fasten the skin with a toothpick. Carefully coat the whole carcass with a mixture of honey and mustard. Sent to the oven for an hour. Do not forget to occasionally water the duck with fat from the pan. In about an hour or a half, the dish - duck in honey mustard sauce - will be ready.
