How to prepare tasty gooseberries with orange for the winter?

Gooseberries with an orange - an unusual combination, is not it? But from berries, which many call "northern grapes", and juicy citrus, you can make fragrant jam for the winter. Choose one of the suggested recipes and get down to business.

For 1 kilogram of berries, take:

  • 1 (or slightly more) kilogram of granulated sugar;
  • a couple of juicy oranges.

Rinse and peel the berries well. Unfortunately, this can take a lot of time - almost every fruit has a dried tip that needs to be removed. Oranges also peel, film and sunflower seeds. After the fruit twist in a meat grinder or chop in a blender, you should get a homogeneous mass. Pour the indicated amount of sugar into the grated gooseberry with orange, mix - the sand should completely dissolve. Then lay out on sterilized jars and roll up the lids. Store as a regular blank in a cool place until winter.

Combine the gooseberries with the orange in a saucepan, pour in sugar, mix and bring to a boil over low heat. As soon as the first bubbles appear on the surface, cook for another 5 minutes. Done. It can be put in banks and put in storage in a dark place. A few ideas: instead of the usual jam, you can add red Sicilian orange - then your harvest will be a beautiful rich amber color. Also, when cooking, you can put a little spices, ground cinnamon or spicy cloves are especially suitable. A spoonful of lemon juice will give a pleasant sourness to your harvest.

When you open a jar of such jam, summer citrus smells will delight you with cold winter evenings. In this recipe we will use lemon. You will need:

  • 1 kilogram of gooseberry berries;
  • 2 pieces of orange and lemon;
  • kilogram of granulated sugar.

Prepare the berries - wash and sort. For oranges and lemons, remove the seeds; the peel does not need to be cut. After all twist in a meat grinder, pour sugar and leave to stand for a couple of hours. Then put everything in a saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, for an hour. Berry-fruit mass should be boiled by about one third. Arrange the hot jam in the jars, let cool, and then roll up the lids and store until winter.
