Which of us in childhood did not read stories about the adventures of the Indians? Who did not watch exciting feature films about the brave and courageous redskins? The popularity of the theme of the Indians in the cinema of the last century was brought by paintings with the participation of the famous actor Goiko Mitich. With an unusual, memorable appearance, he played many roles of a similar plan.
Biography of Goiko Mitic
He was born on June 13, 1940 in Serbia, in a place located under the town of Leskovac. He grew up in a peasant family, where both adults and children worked. However, the local younger generation did not forget about the school.
The boy never had a desire to become an actor. Therefore, after graduation, Goiko Mitic entered the Belgrade Institute of Physical Culture. However, soon the biography of Goiko Mitich began to develop as follows: after graduating, he decided to become a stuntman. Endurance, physical strength and dexterity - the qualities developed during the training at the institute were very useful to a young man now. It was not difficult for him to perform the most difficult and dangerous tricks.
In 1960, Goiko Mitich, whose biography is very interesting, first tried his hand at films. He participated in the filming of the English film Lancelot and the Queen. After that, Goiko Mitich starred in a series of films about Winnet. True, this time not as a stuntman. But not in the title role. He was offered to participate only in the crowd, but for Goiko Mitic it was very interesting.
By 1966, as the biography of Goiko Mitic tells us, he was moving to East Berlin. There he managed to get a job at the DEFA film studio. Often he was allowed to play one of the roles in the next film about the Indians, but all of them (roles) were insignificant.
Finally, in the same year of 1966, Goiko Mitich was offered to star in the film “Sons of the Big Dipper”. This film has a very interesting background. The director was Joseph Mach. Roughly imagining what kind of person he wants to see in the title role, a man watched films about Winneth. He immediately noticed a young man starring in episodic roles. It was Goiko Mitich (a photo of an actor in his youth can be seen in the article). Meeting with a novice actor, Joseph Mach almost immediately approved him for the role of Tokei-ito.
“Sons of the Big Dipper” - this is only the first picture from the cycle about the Indians. It became very popular in the GDR (about 10 million people watched it there). In addition, she fell in love with spectators all over the world, including Soviet citizens.
But especially in the USSR, the film "Chingachgook - Big Snake", shot in 1967, was popular. This is the second part of a series of adventures of the Indians of North America. Goiko Mitic, and this time played the main role here - the role of Chingachguk.
After that, the actor starred in a mass of paintings about the Indians. It was this role that brought him truly world fame and love, especially among the younger generation. However, in the seventies, the interest of viewers in Westerns and Eastern countries fell. In a sense, this pleased Goiko Mitic - he was already tired of playing monotonous heroes. Therefore, the actor begins to star in the series.
Today he lives in Germany, participates in theatrical productions.
