early years
The future director Bulat Yusupov was born on September 15, 1973 in the city of Ufa. A boy was born in the family of Timer Yusupov, who had the status of the famous national poet of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The mother of our hero, Damira, devoted the bulk of her life to working on local television, although she was a surveyor by profession. It was from his parents that the guy inherited a love of high art, in particular, poetry and cinema.
After graduating from high school in his native Ufa, Bulat Yusupov was enrolled in the directing department at the Gerasimov State Institute of Cinematography. In 1995, after receiving a specialty, he returned to his homeland, where his formation as a professional director began.
Film debut
In the mid-90s, Bulat Yusupov was already one of the most promising directors of the Bashkortostan state studio. The director’s debut work in a big movie was a short film called “Glass Passenger”. The protagonist of the film is a young writer who is working on the creation of philosophical stories. By the will of fate, the guy is drawn into an unpleasant criminal story. However, the hero, who is in serious danger, does not experience the fear of death. Like an outside observer, he humbly observes the development of events.
The picture with a rather original subtext was positively received by the audience. The short tape gave a good start to the development of the career of Bulat Yusupov. Subsequently, the management of the Bashkortostan film studio decided to allocate funds for the director for as many as three full-length films: “Long, Long Childhood”, “Seventh Summer Sumbel” and “Rainbow over the Village”. All these tapes, to one degree or another, were successful on wide screens.
Departure for independent cinema
In 2004, Bulat Yusupov decided to break off cooperation with the Bashkortostan film studio, intending to realize his own creative achievements. Having gathered a film crew of like-minded people and close friends, the director set to work on several projects simultaneously. Quite soon, the premiere of several series by Yusupov was made - "The Secret of Arkaim" and "The Bear." Then the short film “Dope” saw the light. The director’s multi-series projects have interested domestic TV people. From that moment, the films of authorship of the young Bashkir director began to be broadcast on central Russian channels.
In 2009, the Public Development Fund of the city of Ufa allocated funds to Bulat to open a personal film school. Over the course of several years, more than a hundred and a half amateur films were released under the auspices of the newly formed organization.
Recent work of the director
In the summer of 2016, work began on the film “Babich”. Bulat Yusupov planned the project, intending to pay tribute to the illustrious Bashkir poet Shaikhzad Babich. The plot of the tape affected the most fruitful period of activity of this outstanding person, whose peak of fame came at the beginning of the last century.
It is noteworthy that for an accurate historical recreation of the spirit of a bygone era, director Bulat Yusupov resorted to organizing filming on the streets of the old part of Ufa. The actions of the picture take place within the walls of the Bashkir Philharmonic, famous museums and educational institutions of the region.
In the same 2016, the next film of the director, the comedy “Nagan,” was released on wide screens. The plot of the film tells about the life of a student Vasily Nakhodkin, who gets a chance to prove himself as a skilled architect while undergoing practical training in a successful construction company. Trying to protect an old building of the 19th century from demolition, the protagonist finds a mysterious bundle in the bins of the building, where the very unfortunate Nagan is hiding. This is where the real adventures begin.
The film "Nagan" turned out to be quite large-scale. During the creation of individual scenes in the picture, up to 1000 people were involved at the same time, who participated in a grand extras. One of the roles in the comedy tape was played by Tam Bulatov, the leader of the popular rock band Lumen. The famous artist appeared on the screen in the image of a character who performs a KGB song.

Personal life
Even during the filming of the debut film "Glass Passenger", Bulat Yusupov began a romantic relationship with actress Rushanna Babich. Soon, young people began to meet. In 1996, the wedding took place. After a while, the first-born of the famous couple was born - a boy who was named Douth.
