"Antigrippin": instructions for use, indications, composition, release form, contraindications, shelf life

There is no person in the world who has never been exposed to a cold or viral disease in his life. There is little pleasant in this process - only in childhood can illness bring pleasure: you sit at home instead of boring lessons, and mom and dad indulge in something delicious every day. An adult is already lacking all kinds of worries, and therefore he wants to recover soon. For these purposes, many different drugs have been developed, one of which is Antigrippin. What is this drug and what is the action of "Antigrippin"?

What and from what?

Before understanding the composition and action of Antigrippin, it’s worth a little to plunge into history. Back in 1995, the Natur Product company, operating in Russia, launched a brand new medicine called Antigrippin. It was developed on the basis of paracetamol (more on the composition will be discussed below) as a drug to eliminate signs of colds and viral diseases. The composition of the drug includes not only paracetamol, which makes its spectrum of action wider and more powerful: for example, a medicine can also have an antipyretic effect on the body.

Antigrippin for colds and flu

Representatives of Natur Product, speaking of their offspring, claim that they were the first in Russia to come up with an effervescent tablet form - the most convenient to use, which in many ways influenced the great popularity of the product. In addition, the voice in favor of Antigrippin is its excellent quality - the medication is not manufactured anywhere, but in Europe. By the way, an interesting fact should be mentioned: not only the usual “Antigrippin”, but also “Antigrippin-maximum” is sold on the shelves of pharmacies. The latter appeared on the market later, and its manufacturer is a completely different company.

Release form "Antigrippin"

As has just been said, Antigrippin is available in effervescent tablets. You can meet them with different tastes: raspberries or grapefruit. However, this is not the only possible form of release of the drug - it is also acceptable to purchase it in the form of a powder from which the solution is made. The powder has two flavors - chamomile or honey with lemon.

Antigrippin capsules are also available. This type of drug is called "Antigrippin-ANVI." However, just like the above “Antigrippin maximum”, it has nothing to do with the original drug with this name. Like Maximum, capsules of Antigrippin are produced by a completely different company.

The composition of the drug

What is the powder, what are the tablets of "Antigrippin" have a completely identical composition. Most in the preparation of paracetamol is five hundred milligrams, which is no wonder: after all, as mentioned above, it is on the basis of this tool that Antigrippin is made. Paracetamol is responsible for analgesia (including help with headaches), elimination of heat, and contributes to vasoconstriction.

Antigrippin for colds

A little less in the composition of the drug "Antigrippin" ascorbic acid - two hundred milligrams. Ascorbic acid is nothing but the well-known vitamin C, which is essential for every person. Thanks to this particular substance, the general resistance of the body to viruses and infections increases (however, some believe that this statement is erroneous). In addition, ascorbic acid helps to properly regulate carbohydrate metabolism and the redox process.

Present in the drug "Antigrippin" and a substance such as chlorphenamine, its only ten milligrams. Thanks to him, it makes it easier for a sick person to breathe, and swelling of the nose and sneezing are reduced. It has an anti-allergic effect and reduces redness of the eyes and the outflow of tears. In addition to the above components, the medication also has a number of other, so to speak, auxiliary substances, including various flavorings and additives.

Indications for use

Based on the above words that the medicine was developed as a remedy for the treatment of colds and various viruses, it is logical to assume that it is the common cold that is an indication for the use of the drug. That's right, but the list is not limited to that. Among the recommendations for the use of "Antigrippin" are not only acute respiratory viral infections, but also influenza, as well as any other infectious and / or inflammatory processes that are complicated by a runny nose, fever, headache and joint pain and the like.

Contraindications

Like any other drug, Antigrippin has contraindications, so you should not start taking the medicine from the bay-flounder - first you need to carefully study the instructions. The list of voiced contraindications for taking this drug includes the following factors: problems with the gastrointestinal tract (gastritis, ulcer, especially with exacerbation), renal and hepatic insufficiency, alcohol abuse, glaucoma, malignancies, hepatitis, individual intolerance to the drug and / or any of its components.

It is forbidden to take medicine for children under the age of fifteen. For them there is their own "Antigrippin" - effervescent baby pills. They will be described in more detail below. In addition, the instructions for use of "Antigrippin" noted that it is necessary to take the medication in old age with caution.

Side effects

Unfortunately, any drug can cause side effects in some people. Antigrippin is no exception. Among the undesirable effects exerted by him on the human body, there are the following: headache, nausea, fatigue, pain in the stomach, anemia, hypoglycemia (acute lack of sugar), allergic reactions up to Quincke's edema, drowsiness, dry mouth. The instructions for use of "Antigrippin" focuses on the fact that if you take the medication in the required quantities without decreasing or increasing the dose arbitrarily, it is well and easily tolerated. But if you start taking powder or tablets of "Antigrippin" in increased volumes without consulting a doctor, this can turn out to be deplorable and lead to an overdose.

Colds with fever

Symptoms by which an overdose of a drug can be recognized are: sudden diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea and / or vomiting, lethargy, lack of appetite. All these symptoms indicate an acute overdose and usually occur within a few hours (at most - up to fourteen) after taking the drug. In some cases, the above symptoms may not bother for two to three days after taking the medicine, but then they will reveal themselves very clearly. Then we can talk about chronic overdose. By the way, in rare situations, when an overdose occurs, sweating increases, depression begins, insomnia begins, seizures are possible, which can even lead to a coma. But you should not think about what will happen without fail, and be afraid to use a medicine - you just need to know your enemy in person.

"Antigrippin" and pregnancy

Pregnant women are most susceptible to colds, as they have reduced immunity. It is doubly unpleasant to get sick while carrying the baby precisely because most of the medicines that future mothers calmly took before pregnancy, now they can not use. The list of approved medications is extremely short. As for the "Antigrippin", then, unfortunately, during pregnancy, the "Antigrippin" is strictly prohibited (despite the presence of paracetamol in it, which is acceptable for use by expectant mothers). Of course, the same taboo on the drug during lactation. Lactating "Antigrippin" is also contraindicated.

Interaction with other drugs

It is important to know how Antigrippin reacts to other medicines, as it often happens that people are forced to take antiviral drugs while taking any other necessary medicines.

So, the instructions for use of "Antigrippin" warns: you should not take it simultaneously with any drugs that have an effect on the nervous system. This includes antidepressants, medications required for Parkinson's disease, and many others - otherwise there is a high risk of side effects. It is also better to refrain from "Antigrippin" if you need to drink medicines with barbiturates, since paracetamol will not be so effective. In addition, the effects of paracetamol and preparations for gout, paracetamol and ethanol should not be mixed. As for ascorbic acid, it has many different actions, for example, improves the absorption of iron.

How to use?

Once again, we need to recall that the "Antigrippin", the instructions for the use of which we are studying, is approved for use no earlier than the age of fifteen. It is necessary to take "Antigrippin" two or three times a day, one tablet / one sachet of powder. The powder should be diluted in warm water. It is recommended to drink both the effervescent "Antigrippin" and a solution of powder in the interval between meals, and try to observe an interval of at least four hours. If older people drink Antigrippin, the gap must be doubled exactly. Take the medication for longer than three days as an antipyretic and five days as an anesthetic on your own should not be.

Flu and the common cold

Storage

You need to store the medicine at a temperature of at least ten and not more than thirty degrees above zero, in a place where there is no humidity and where children will not get. The shelf life of Antigrippin is three years.

Antigrippin and children

"Antigrippin", as has been repeated more than once, is approved for use only from the age of fifteen. But you should not assume that children under this age should not use this drug at all. For them, a special children's “Antigrippin” - effervescent tablets was developed. For kids, they are safe. Powder-free baby drug is not available. The Anti-Influenza Instruction for Children warns, however, that even his babies under three years old should not be given.

Antigrippin for children

Children's "Antigrippin" is delivered to the market by the same company as an adult, and in the same way as an adult "Antigrippin", medicines for children are made in Europe - in the Netherlands and / or Poland. Unlike an adult, a baby preparation has a rich fruity taste and pink color. But its composition does not differ completely in anything new, only the number of components is an order of magnitude lower: paracetamol and ascorbic acid are half as much, and chlorphenamine in general is only three milligrams. Children's "Antigrippin" can be taken even by diabetics, because among the excipients of the drug there is absolutely no sugar.

Indications for use are no different either: Children's Antigrippin is also prescribed for respiratory diseases, respiratory tract, nose, high fever, headache and so on. As for contraindications, there are no changes: glaucoma, individual intolerance, renal failure, liver failure, hepatitis, peptic ulcer disease and less than three years of age.

Due to the fact that the children's Antigrippin is effervescent, that is, it dissolves in water, there should be no side effects, according to experts, that is, the risk of their occurrence is practically zero. Nevertheless, you should still be on your guard and be sure to consult a doctor if you suddenly experience symptoms such as a sharp headache, fatigue, nausea, stomach pain, low blood sugar, allergic manifestations (any), drowsiness, dry mouth difficulty urinating. An overdose can occur, its symptoms are a lack or loss of appetite, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, stomach pain, excessive sweating, weakness, dizziness (often to a faint or half-fainting state), overexcitation, insomnia, and so on. In this case, you need to instantly stop taking the drug, rinse the baby's stomach, give activated charcoal and consult a doctor.

Runny nose in a child

Dissolve children's "Antigrippin" is recommended in a glass of warm water with a temperature of at least fifty degrees. Important: you need to drink the medicine immediately, it cannot be stored ready-made (the same, incidentally, applies to the adult "Antigrippin"). The interval between doses should be exactly the same - four hours.

Children should take “Antigrippin” one tablet once a day if the baby is from five to ten years old. If more than ten, he needs to drink two tablets a day, and if the crumbs are only three or four years old, then you need to give him only half a tablet of the drug. Again, it is worth paying attention that for more than three or five days you can not "feed" the kids with the drug without going to the doctor. The medicine is stored in the same way as a variant for adults.

Analogues of the drug

There are an awful lot of drugs on the pharmaceutical market, some of which are similar to each other. Antigrippin also has analogues. First of all, this is the homeopathic "Antigrippin for children." It is produced by a Russian company in our country and is allowed for children from one year (if you drink it in tablets) or from three years (if you drink in granules). This medicine is sweet, tastes good, does not cause rejection in babies. Crumbs should dissolve it in the mouth fifteen minutes before eating. The smallest kids need to dissolve the tablet in a spoon with water. This kind of medication is often given to babies as a preventative measure.

homeopathic anti-influenza

Among the analogues of Antigrippin is Antiflu Kids, whose composition is absolutely the same, but the volume of components is less, and therefore it is given even to two-year-olds. The medicine is produced in the form of a powder with raspberry flavor, it can also be taken for no more than five days. The country of manufacture of this medication is America, in the composition there are all the same paracetamol and ascorbic acid.

An interesting version of Antigrippin as Chinese is also interesting. It is produced, as you might guess, in China. It also contains paracetamol and chlorphenamine, and instead of ascorbic acid, caffeine. This medicine is also pleasant to take, because it is sweet and has a citrus flavor. Children can consume Chinese Antigrippin when they are one year old. An analogue is the “Antigrippin-maximum”, which was mentioned earlier.

If we move away from the above brand, then the analogues of Antigrippin are Fervex, Efferalgan, AGRI (an order of magnitude cheaper than Antigrippin) or Anvimax. The last drug is available in powder form, costs half the price of Antigrippin, and has almost the same effect. It contains almost all of the same components as those of Antigrippin.

"Teraflu" or "Teraflu Extra" are also popular substitutes for the above medication, according to some reports, they have even the best anti-inflammatory effect. But “Teraflu” is not prescribed for children under the age of twelve, and there is no provision for a children's variety of medication.

Another good remedy is Coldrex and its variant Coldrex Junior. The first, as you might guess, is for adults, the second is for children. However, the usual "Coldrex" is allowed for use by children who have reached twelve. It is marketed in capsules, while the baby drug comes in the form of sachets of powder. Between themselves, these two varieties differ - an adult drug contains caffeine, a child does not, and the amount of paracetamol is significantly reduced.

The last of the existing analogues of Antigrippin is called Pharmacitron, it is also a powder. The unusualness of this medication is that there are two versions of it - with the usual content of paracetamol and with an increased content. The latter can not be given to children under fourteen years of age, the usual one can be from the age of six.

By the way, the most common paracetamol is also an analogue of "Antigrippin." And why not, after all, this drug was developed on its basis. In addition, if there is no “Antigrippin” in the medicine cabinet or if it is impossible to use it for medical reasons, you can drink the usual “Analgin” or “Baralgin” - they will have exactly the same antipyretic and analgesic effect.
