Filming
In the wonderful science-fiction movie Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), James Gunn’s first notable own project , Raccoon Rocket, which many viewers love, is one of the central characters. Filming scenes with his participation were, to put it mildly, difficult and took place in several stages.
At first, there was an extras with a toy animal or a dressed-up dwarf actor in the frame, so that the operator had an idea of where one of the key characters of the film should be. After these manipulations, the creative team of animators and artists, taking the footage as a basis, sketched Raccoon movements and visualized them using a simplified three-dimensional model.
And again, the scene was re-shot so that the live actors did not intersect with the trajectory of the animated characters. At the last stage, animators worked on computer characters in more detail. In order for the furry hero to look convincing and realistic, specialists carefully captured all the movements of the real raccoon Oreo. The animal was present on the site and inspired everyone with inexhaustible energy and optimism, it was his life energy, not without the participation of professional creators, received the Raccoon Rocket. Photos from the film are touched by their believability.
The return of the "space opera"
At its core, Guardians of the Galaxy is a successful mix of Avengers, Star Wars, and Serenity Missions - a lightweight entertainment experience suitable for family viewing, stuffed with conscious cliches and quotes. Unfortunately, at present the “space opera” is not a very popular movie genre in the world, but “Guardians of the Galaxy” are capable of regaining lost interest. Therefore, millions of moviegoers are looking forward to 2017 - the announced term for the release of the sequel to the picture and meetings with your favorite characters, including Raccoon Rocket.
