"Clonidine" instructions describe how the drug is in the form of tablets having a white or white color with a yellowish tint. The form is flat-cylindrical.

One tablet contains 0.15 milligrams of clonidine - the active ingredient. Additional ones include: magnesium stearate, potato (or corn) starch, lactose monohydrate.

Belongs to the pharmacological group of antihypertensive drugs. "Clonidine", the instruction informs, is an antihypertensive drug whose action reduces the heart rate, normalizes systolic and diastolic blood pressure, improves overall peripheral vascular resistance.

"Clonidine" (tablets) is prescribed to patients older than fifteen years. The medication is used regardless of meals, and it is effective even in small volumes. The dosage of the drug is selected by a specialist individually. Abrupt abolition of the indicated funds is undesirable; it should be carried out gradually over several weeks.

Consider standard therapeutic regimens:

1. With arterial hypertension, the initial daily volume is usually 0.075 milligrams several times a day. Over time, the dosage is gradually increased to six tablets (0.9 milligrams) - this is the average daily rate. For one use, you should not take more than two tablets (maximum ten per day).

Patients of advanced age, as well as suffering from cerebrovascular disease in the initial period of therapy should take 0.0375 milligrams of the drug 3 times a day.

2. For the treatment of hypertensive crisis, one to two tablets (from 0.15 to 0.3 mg) are indicated, which are taken by the sublingual method (under the tongue) if dryness is not observed in the oral cavity.

3. In case of withdrawal symptoms (under stationary conditions), 1-2 tablets are prescribed three times a day. The interval between doses should not be less than six hours. The course of therapy lasts five to seven days.

If side effects occur, you may experience increased fatigue, drowsiness, slowing down of the speed of motor and mental reactions, anxiety, nervousness, depression, nightmares and dizziness - symptoms that indicate malfunctions in the central nervous system. It is also possible violation of the functioning of the cardiovascular system, with the occurrence of orthostatic hypertension and bradycardia. In addition, vomiting, constipation, nausea, a feeling of dry mouth are noted - poor digestion. The manifestation of allergic reactions - skin rash, itching, swelling of the mucous membranes is not excluded.

When treating with this drug, it should be borne in mind that Klofelin is a sleeping pill (in combination with alcohol it acts almost instantly). In order to avoid extremely negative consequences throughout the course of therapy, it is recommended to refrain from taking alcohol.
