The musical styles in which many collectives create today are not always clear to the listener. But for a narrower circle of fans, they will always remain interesting. Fear Factor is a relatively young rock band from Russia. Despite the direction of "modern metal", it does not cause fans the feelings described in the title.
From old to new
For twenty years, the domestic thrash metal band Trizna has performed English-language compositions. One of its leaders, Kirill Nemolyaev, immediately after the collapse organized the âFear Factorâ, which, by and large, is a successor to its predecessor.
Former participant of âTriznyâ Konstantin Seleznev with great doubt agreed on the idea of ââa friend to create something new, leaving the group with a 15-year history. But today's standards required change. The first innovation was the rejection of English songs. The âfear factorâ was to distinguish modern material. Seleznev and Nemolyaev, who was also engaged in the promotion of the group, invited the old soloists of Trizny. A year after its formation, in 2005, the debut album âTheater of Warâ appears.
Style fastening, sensual material
Declared as âAct One,â it is performed in the style of melodic death metal. Most of the compositions of the âFear Factorâ group reflect a human struggle with themselves and the world around them. They are united by militaristic themes and pacifism, traced in the background. Nine songs turned out to be aggressive, but with a lyrical digression, as the creators had originally planned.
The release of the next part, entitled âAct Two,â was expected for fans. The album is considered the semantic end of the ideas laid down in the predecessor. The musical line, according to critics, has become more saturated. The âfear factorâ has formed its own style, which will be adhered to in the future.
A new stage in creativity
In 2008, fans saw the third record. âYour ideal worldâ was created without the participation of Kirill Nemolyaev, all the work was undertaken by Konstantin Seleznev. In addition to searching for his own world, which is different for each person, the compositional theme of the Fear Factor group covers aspects of human phobias. All of them have an impact on the worldview. Lyrics are ways to deal with them. The track list of ten songs is made in a logical sequence. âCode of Fateâ is the final appeal and completion of the concept of the record.
Meanwhile, Konstantin Seleznev is engaged in a solo career, releasing in 2011 the album âTerritory ... Xâ. This does not affect the activities of the âFactorâ.
The team is replenished by Mikhail Sidorenko. It is noteworthy that he previously worked in "Scarlet Dawn" and the circus show of the Zapashny brothers. He takes part in several concerts, as well as in recording the next album.
The musicians of the group âFear Factorâ noted a different concept of the future record, which is distinguished by a heavy sound. Starting to write songs, they set a goal - to create complete opposites to all previous compositions.
âDead Dreamsâ was completely written by Konstantin Seleznev. It is designed in mid-tempo sound. Critics call it a harmonious balance of drive and melody. The main material predominates in an aggressive manner, but it catches the vocal performance. âParadise Lostâ is one of the albumâs powerful compositions. It also includes two English-language tracks presented as a bonus.
The press slips information about the collapse of the team. Later, participants confirm it. At that time, there were several songs in readiness. The musicians decide on the release of the album âAbove the Force ...â. He became the fifth and final disc of the group.
He, like previous works, is distinguished by energy. âAbove forces ...â is filled with powerful, âfuriousâ inserts. The title track âWorld of Illusionsâ was released as a separate demo version.
Set pace
Despite the collapse, today the fans of the âFear Factorâ group have not stopped reading the work of their idols. Many members of the team realized themselves in new projects. The main thing that has always distinguished the group, as well as what will remain in the memory of the audience, is its unique style, combining hard brutality and piercing melody.
