Creation
Pictures of George Rualdovich Dmitriev can be seen in the art collections of more than 20 countries. The author’s canvases also represent Russia in the reception hall of government delegations in Seoul, the capital of South Korea.
At present, the artist-marine painter George Dmitriev is one of the most respected people among Russian painters who prefer the theme of the sea in fine art.
Topic: water element
The depiction of the elements of water and its power in the artist’s paintings cannot be left without attention. It is unlikely that there will be at least one person who would not notice and appreciate Dmitriev’s talent.
Its sea is permeated by rays of sunlight, represented with the help of completely different shades of colors. The most powerful energy of the waves, the immeasurable distance of the blue and the power of nature beyond human control - all this can be expressed by the artist Georgi Dmitriev thanks to his talent and the painting direction suitable for him - marinism.
The countries in which Dmitriev’s works are stored are united by one common similarity - proximity to the elements of the sea. Perhaps that is why the work of George is so revered and appreciated in the above states.
Interestingly, the artist Dmitriev George did not immediately come to his favorite genre. The work, written in 1987, for fans interested in his work will be a great surprise, since it will not have the usual beautiful image of the sea. On the canvas you will see a still life on which the author draws bottles in the form of cubism.
An interesting fact: this situation is very similar to the creative biography of the master Aron Bukh, who devoted the style of realism to most of his life and only in the last decades decided to create a cycle of works in the direction of expressionism.
The mountains
The theme of mountainous relief is no exception to the paintings of the artist George Dmitriev. An incredibly realistic and atmospheric image of every detail of the peaks by a talented landscape painter. One gets the feeling that the very mountain with which such an unforgettable paradise view extended was his workplace at that time.
Watching a sufficiently large number of works, it is impossible not to pay attention to the angle from which the artist shows us the beauty and power of nature.
A bird's-eye view allows everyone to move to the corner of the Earth, depicted with the artist’s magic brushes, and feel himself part of it.
Its useful to note
Of particular note is the way the artist Georgy Dmitriev shows the sky. Although it is not a separate theme of the landscape in his work, peering into it, you understand that this is like another incredible, deep and mysterious world that is beyond our control.
The bright shining light in the distance - the sun - as if always watching us, reminding that we are just a small part of the vast universe, the borders of which we can never reach through mountains, seas and horizons.
In addition to the landscape
It is worth noting that the paintings of the marine painter George Dmitriev are saturated not only with marine themes. Among them are works in the style of still life. Among his works there are really many works in which the composition is laconic and thought out and, accordingly, harmoniously built. Dmitriev, as a worthy set designer and director, selects the background to match the game of texture and shades of objects.
The works “Two Pitchers”, “Desert Toys” and “Still Life with Buddha” combine, in addition to color contrast, also textural, thus emphasizing the diversity of objects.
Using the example of the first picture, you can make out and make sure that two jugs of different metals that have taken an unequal distorted shape, correctly refracted light on a dark background and also a bright red, conspicuous foundation make the still life an atmospheric deep and purely individual style of the artist.
Stage scenes with similar "actors" (old things, birds, butterflies, fresh flowers, stems, fruits) allow you to plunge into the homely everyday atmosphere of George Dmitriev himself.
