Neurox is an intravenous and intramuscular preparation intended for the treatment of diseases associated with impaired functions of the brain and nervous system. With antioxidant, nootropic and cerebroprotective properties, Neurox is prescribed for the following diseases:
- acute intoxication caused by the use of antipsychotic drugs;
- acute circulatory disorders of the brain;
- encephalopathy;
- neurosis-like and vegetative-vascular disorders caused by withdrawal symptoms in alcoholism;
- neurotic and neurosis-like conditions and related anxiety disorders ;
- mild cognitive impairment associated with organic brain disorders;
- cardiopsychoneurosis.
Possible intravenous and intramuscular injection of the drug "Neurox". Injections should be made in the gluteus or femoral muscle. Intravenous administration occurs only as directed by a physician and under supervision.
The drug "Neurox" instructions for use are prescribed according to the dosage scheme and method of administration described below.
- Intravenous administration of the drug is possible with its preliminary dilution in sodium chloride with a mass fraction of 0.9%. As an initial dose of taking the drug Neurox, the instructions for use call the mass up to 100 mg no more than 3 times a day. It should be gradually increased until a therapeutic effect is obtained.

- Prevention of discirculatory encephalopathy should consist in the course of the drug: intramuscularly up to 2 times a day for no more than two weeks.
- The treatment of neurosis-like and neurotic disorders as well as neurocirculatory dystonia and Neurox is prescribed by administering intramuscularly up to 400 mg of the drug for up to 14 days.
- Taking the drug with alcohol withdrawal is not more than 200 mg up to 3 times a day or intravenously - the same amount up to 2 times a day for a week.
- Acute intoxication with antipsychotic substances decreases with the intravenous administration of a drug weighing up to 300 mg, the duration of treatment is no more than 2 weeks.
Among the contraindications for taking the drug Neurox, the instructions for use name the following:
- possible allergic reactions to the components of the drug;
- acute renal or hepatic failure,
- lactation, pregnancy, childhood.
Possible side effects when taking the drug are listed below:
- taste of metal in the mouth, dryness;
- discomfort in the chest area;
- sore throat;
- feeling of lack of air;
- prolonged use can cause flatulence, nausea and various sleep disorders.
