What products will be needed?

The main components of the dish, designed for 6 people (1 serving per person), will be the following products:

  • 600 grams of potatoes;
  • 2 onions;
  • 1 leek;
  • 6 chicken drumsticks;
  • 300 grams of champignons;
  • 500 grams of puff pastry (you can use either store or homemade);
  • 50 milliliters of milk;
  • 100 milliliters of vegetable oil;
  • 0.5 teaspoons chicken spices;
  • 1 teaspoon of salt.

How to cook chicken in bags?

  1. Sprinkle shins with salt and spices and send to a hot pan. Cooking time in vegetable oil varies from 25 to 30 minutes. Fried legs must be cooled immediately after their heat treatment.
  2. In the same oil that we fried chicken drumsticks, fry in small cubes chopped onions and mushrooms, cut into larger pieces. The frying time is determined by the roastiness and evaporation of all the liquid from the pan, that is, it will take about 15 minutes.
  3. Cooking mashed potatoes. Rinse and peel the potatoes. If the potato is young, then cook it until ready for 15 minutes in salted water. You will have to cook old potatoes for about 30 minutes, so if you are in a hurry, it is better to buy young potatoes in advance, even if it takes time to look for it. After we boiled the potatoes in salted water until fully cooked, we drain the hot liquid and knead the potatoes with a blender to a puree state. Add salt to taste if you want. We add fried mushrooms and fried onions to fragrant mashed potatoes without lumps. Mix the chicken stuffing with mushrooms in bags and add the required amount of salt.
  4. From the rolled dough we should cut a small strip about 4 centimeters wide. The rest is divided into 6 identical parts. We divide the four-centimeter strip into 6 pieces and put it in the center of each cut square. Cropping will be needed as a patch of the potential bottom, which is formed in the middle of the test pattern. We put a patch in this middle of the figure.
  5. We distribute the filling of potatoes, mushrooms and onions in approximately 2 tablespoons to each of the six squares. The filling is also placed in the middle and strictly on the β€œpatch”. And then we vertically set the chicken drumsticks on each figure.
  6. Now we carefully take the square by the edges and create a bag, wrapping it with a vertically standing chicken drumstick, which continues to remain in place. We tie a test wrapper with the feathers of 1 leek cut into strips or with the remaining dough, which we can also divide into strips. Wrap chicken legs in foil to protect dishes from burning. We should cover the baking sheet with baking paper or treat it a little with vegetable oil. At the end of the sixth stage, we put all the bags on a baking sheet.
  7. At this stage, we bake the chicken in bags in an oven preheated to 180-200 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Thus, the dough is better baked.
  8. At the end of cooking, remove the foil and fixing thread from leek or the remaining dough.
