How to dry apples in the sun?
This method has been tested by time - before, dried fruits were prepared exclusively in this way. This is a long process, but as a result, the maximum of useful substances and taste is preserved. Apples should be exposed to sunlight all day, and at night they should be cleaned in a dry and cool place. Repeat the procedure for a whole week. In the city, it is very difficult to secure the conditions for such preparation of dried apples, and environmental conditions are not always suitable for outdoor cooking. Therefore, it is better to choose a method that uses an oven, microwave or special dryers.
How to dry apples on a battery or in an oven?
If you are not in a hurry and you need to cook a little, just hang thin slices of apples on a string in the kitchen. The fruits will naturally dry and will be tasty and soft, but they will only be ready in ten or twelve days. To get the result faster, you can put slices on a wooden board, which will be put on a central heating battery.

Turn the apple slices periodically during the drying process so that they dry more evenly. It is important that the air in the drying room is not too humid. If there are about ten kilograms of apples, it is better to use a stove for preparing dried fruits. Before you dry the apples, cut them and put them on a baking sheet covered with foil or baking paper. Dry at a temperature of about fifty degrees for several hours, then increase the temperature to sixty. Open the oven door periodically to remove accumulated excess moisture. Half an hour before the end of cooking, reduce the heat again. In total, it will take about seven to eight hours. Put the finished apples on a towel and leave to cool.
How to dry apples in the microwave?
Make
the microwave process will help as fast as possible. Dried fruits are cooked in it in a couple of minutes. Before drying the apples, wash and peel them, then cut them as thin as possible. Lay on a plate in one layer and send in the microwave for two minutes, turning it on at low power. After the specified time, try one slice. Some
varieties of apples will be ready, others will need to be dried a little more. After several samples, you can easily determine the exact time it takes to prepare dried fruits, and you can quickly dry all the apples in small portions. In a few hours, even a very large crop can be prepared for the winter.
