How to bake a lamb leg in the oven - recipe number 1
Structure:
- sunflower oil - 4 tablespoons;
- leg of lamb;
- greens;
- lemon - 1 piece;
- pepper, salt;
- potatoes - 1-2 kg.
First you need to wash the lamb leg in water and remove excess fat from it. Then pour in a bowl of sunflower oil. Finely chop the greens, squeeze the juice from the lemon and add to the oil. Then sprinkle everything with salt, pepper and mix thoroughly. It should be noted that vegetable oil is able to extract all the essential oils from greens, thanks to which the dishes are so aromatic.
Now you need to grate the cooked mixture with lamb so that it is well saturated with greens, salt and pepper. After that, the leg should be wrapped in foil so that it fits snugly and placed in the refrigerator for about a day. In the process of pickling, lamb is saturated not only with the aroma of herbs, but will also be soft and delicate in taste.
After a day, when the lamb leg is well marinated, you need to remove it from the refrigerator and wait until it becomes room temperature. Only then remove it from the foil. Now you need to preheat the oven to 215 degrees, while placing a pan with water, which will help the meat not to dry out during cooking. The lamb leg should be placed on the grate located in the middle of the oven. Fat, which at the beginning of cooking was cut off the legs, it is necessary to cover the meat on all sides.
The amount of potatoes depends on the weight of the lamb leg. You need to peel and cut it into slices, then place on a baking sheet. It should also be noted that if the leg is small, you should slightly boil the potatoes for 4-6 minutes before putting it on a baking sheet.
After 16 minutes of baking lamb, you need to turn the leg over, then another 16 minutes later, turn over again. After that, reduce the heat and bake the meat for about an hour. Ingredients for cooking:
- yogurt - 2 glasses;
- leg of lamb - about 4 kg;
- lemon juice - 2-3 tablespoons;
- garlic - 3-4 cloves;
- ginger root and lime zest (grated) - 1 spoon each;
- salt, paprika, coriander, ground cumin, dry mustard, ground cinnamon, cloves, ground cayenne pepper.
First you need to wash your leg with a ram, then dry it and cut off the fat. Then mix yogurt, lemon juice and grate the meat with this mixture. Then put in the refrigerator for 8-10 hours. Then drain the marinade. Now crush the garlic, ginger, lime zest, salt, mustard, cloves in a mortar and add the remaining yogurt. After that add cumin, coriander, paprika, cayenne pepper and mix well. Coat the leg with this mixture and place on the grill, while covering it with foil. Then bake the lamb leg in the oven at 195 degrees for one and a half hours. Then turn off the fire, carefully remove the foil and leave the meat for another half hour in the oven. For cooking you will need:
- potatoes - 550 g;
- bell pepper - 2 pieces;
- lamb leg - about 750 g;
- tomatoes - 2-3 pieces;
- mustard, hops-suneli - 1 tablespoon each;
- pepper, salt.
Initially, you need to rub the lamb leg with a mixture of salt, mustard and spices, then leave it to marinate for half an hour. Then peel the potatoes, wash thoroughly and cut into four parts, then pepper and salt. Bell peppers should be cleaned and washed, and then cut in half. Then take the tomatoes and cut them into four pieces each. When the lamb leg is marinated, it should be laid out in a sleeve with vegetables, then tightly tied on both sides.
