"Totem" describes the
instructions for use as a combined preparation specifically designed to activate blood formation. The active substances that are present in its composition help to efficiently synthesize myoglobin, and also stimulate various kinds of redox reactions that occur in the body, contributing to the process of reversible oxygen binding. Description of release form
This anti-anemic drug is produced in the form of a dark brown solution intended for oral administration and placed in separate ampoules. The main substances in this preparation are
iron, manganese gluconate and copper gluconate. Anhydrous citric acid, glycerin,
sodium citrate, polysorbate 80, sucrose, caramel dye, liquid glucose, flavoring,
sodium benzoate and distilled water act as auxiliary elements. Each ampoule contains ten milliliters of solution.

The Totema application guide recommends the use of the antianemic drug Totema for the treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anemia of various etiologies in adult patients and infants, starting from three months. In addition, this combination tool is indicated for use during the period of bearing a child, as well as in other conditions accompanied by an increased need for iron in the body. With severe bleeding, it is similarly worth starting to take the Totem drug. The instruction advises using it also in case of insufficient intake of iron with food or in case of a detected violation of its absorption.
The main contraindications
The manufacturer strictly does not recommend taking this antianemic agent for people suffering from thalassemia, hemosiderosis, a stomach ulcer, hemochromatosis or a duodenal ulcer. In case of anemia that is not associated with iron deficiency, one should not start taking the combined drug "Totem". Instructions for use prohibit its use in
Wilson-Konovalov disease. Hypersensitivity to iron, manganese or copper are also reasons for the withdrawal of this medicine. In addition,
lead contraindications and up to three months of age are direct contraindications. With great caution, it is necessary to take this antianemic drug for people with diabetes.
Adverse reactions
Taking the combined Totem medication in some groups of people can cause vomiting, feelings of nausea and heartburn. In addition, flatulence, impaired stool and gastric neuralgia can be observed.
