Medication for Asthma

To date, a positive trend has been achieved in the treatment of bronchial asthma medication. More recently, with the help of therapy it was only possible to remove the symptoms of the disease, now it is possible to control its course. Thus, it is possible to effectively block the development of the disease, preventing it from progressing at a rapid pace. These features are drugs that are designed for basic asthma therapy.

Such asthma medication not effective with an already developed attack of strangulation, their task is to prevent the occurrence of attacks. In this case, there is a suppression of specific inflammation in the bronchi, which is considered the cause of their hyperreactivity. Nonhormonal drugs of basic therapy should include intal, tiled, acolate and ketotifen. Using these agents, it is possible to suppress the release of substances that damage the mucous membrane of the bronchi and cause asthma attacks.

The anti-asthma effects of the hormonal drugs of basic therapy are much stronger. They have a sufficiently high anti-inflammatory activity, reliably protecting the bronchi from sclerosis, in other words - from irreversible narrowing. Glucocorticosteroids, which are produced in the form of pocket inhalers, effectively act on the bronchial tree only if the correct dosage is adhered to. Such drugs do not significantly affect other organs and important body systems.

Medicines in the form of inhalations include becotide, ingacort, flixotide and benacort. Prolonged use of these drugs does not cause significant significant side effects, only sometimes thrush of the oral cavity or hoarseness of the voice can be observed.

As a rule, glucocorticosteroid hormonal drugs that are taken orally are prescribed only in case of severe exacerbation of bronchial asthma. The course of treatment with such drugs can not be long, so they will not cause hormonal failure and negative effects. A positive result is the rapid restoration of the original sharply impaired bronchial patency.

Only a small proportion of patients with bronchial asthma are doomed to the constant use of hormonal tablets. Only with this regimen of therapy can satisfactory health and performance be maintained. But in this case, you can minimize the possible side effects by observing a competent specialist.
