The medicine "Etamsylate" describes the instructions for use as a hemostatic agent. The drug is often prescribed in gynecology, during pregnancy with bleeding.
Medication "Etamsylat". Instructions for use: purpose
The drug is used to prevent or stop capillary bleeding in diabetic angiopathy, during surgical interventions in ENT practice (for tonsillectomy, for example), in ophthalmology when removing cataracts, keratoplasty, etc., in dentistry when removing teeth, cysts, granulomas. The tool "Ethamsylate" instructions for use recommends use in urology (after prostatectomy, for example), gynecological practice and surgery (especially during interventions on plentifully supplied with blood tissues), in emergency cases with pulmonary and intestinal bleeding, with hemorrhagic diathesis.
Means "Etamsilat". Instructions for use: exposure mechanism
The medicine is able to increase the formation of large molecular weight mucopolysaccharides in the capillary walls, increase vascular stability, normalize their permeability against the background of pathological processes, and improve microcirculation. Means Ethamzilat also has a hemostatic (hemostatic) property. This effect, according to experts, is based on the ability of the drug to activate the formation of thromboplastin. The drug does not affect prothrombin time, does not provoke increased coagulability, and also does not contribute to the formation of blood clots.
Dosage regimen
The drug "Ethamsylate" is allowed for use orally, intravenously, for the eyeball (retrobulbar), under the shell of the eye (subconjunctival), intramuscularly.
When a hemostatic (hemostatic) effect of the drug is injected into a vein, it is noted after five to fifteen minutes. Maximum efficiency is observed after an hour or two. The duration of the drug is from four to six hours. When introduced into the muscle, the hemostatic effect is noted somewhat later. When administered orally, the effect occurs after three hours.
In order to prevent bleeding an hour before surgery, the Etamzilat preparation (in ampoules) is administered intramuscularly or intravenously in a dosage of two to four milliliters (one to two ampoules). If necessary, the injection is repeated during the operation. It is allowed before the operation (three hours) instead of intravenous administration to give two or three tablets. At an increased risk of developing postoperative bleeding as a preventive measure, they inject 4-6 ml per day or give six to eight tablets (evenly throughout the day).
To eliminate bleeding (for medicinal purposes), two or four milliliters are injected (intravenously or intramuscularly) at once, then two milliliters every four to six hours. Subsequent injections may be replaced by oral administration of Etamsylat.
Tablets should not be used for bleeding caused by anticoagulants (drugs that stop blood coagulation). Caution is advised to administer Etamsylat to patients with embolism or thrombosis (including a history of it).
Using the drug can cause headache, slight dizziness, low blood pressure, numbness in the lower extremities, facial flushing, a feeling of heaviness in the epigastric region, heartburn.
In clinical practice, cases of overdose with this drug are not described.
The synonyms of Etamzilat medication are such medicines as Impedil, Cyclonamine, Aglumin and others.
