Victor Tsoi: nationality, biography
The future legend in the person of an ordinary guy was born in 1962 in Leningrad in a mixed family: an ethnic Korean and a native Leningrad. The secondary art school in which Victor studied for three years, became the first stage of the musician’s creative life. It was here that he participated in the group "Ward No. 6", headed by Maxim Pashkov. Then Tsoi was expelled from the "art" for lack of progress, and he began to master the specialty of woodcarver in vocational school No. 61. In his youth, Viktor was “sick” with Vladimir Vysotsky and Mikhail Boyarsky, and then Bruce Lee became his idol, he even became interested in martial arts and imitated the image of a “fighting” film actor. No other than the call of eastern blood obeyed Viktor Tsoi.
Nationality
The singer’s parents met in 1961 at the New Year’s Eve in a circle of mutual friends. Robert Tsoi is a Korean from Kazakhstan with a very ancient history of the family name, which is one of the most famous in Korea. Victor’s great-grandfather, Tsoi Yong Nam, born in 1893, lived in the Korean town of Songjin, now it is the territory of North Korea.
In search of a better life, he moved to Vladivostok and connected his fate with Anna Vasilievna Yugay. In 1937, as a result of Stalin's deportation, the Tsoi family settled in Kyzyl-Orda (Kazakhstan), where after generations the father of the future legend of rock was born . Robert Maksimovich received an engineering degree at the Leningrad Mechanical Institute.
The musician’s mother, Valentina Vasilievna Guseva (girlhood), is the native Leningrad, her ancestors are the hereditary peasants of the Gorodok district (Vitebsk province).
Robert and Valentine got married in February 1961, and a year and a half later, the couple had a son, Vitya.
Childhood memories
Asian appearance attracted little attention to little Vita, which is why he was embarrassed, more often played aside from other children and more and more became withdrawn. Victor remained faithful to rock music, although such a semi-legal activity led him almost to poverty.
Like many rock musicians at that time, due to pacifist views, Tsoi was hiding from conscription in a psychiatric hospital, from where he was discharged with a certificate. Debut album
The first record “Cinema” appeared with the help of Boris Borisovich Grebenshchikov (Tsoi accidentally met him on the train). The album was recorded at the studio of A. Tropillo (House of the Young Technician) with the participation of musicians from Aquarium. It received the name "45" (that was the length of the songs) and was published in June 1982. Then "Cinema" performed with the first full-fledged concert. With the release of the album, they started talking about the group: the first apartment owners were organized in the capital and Leningrad. In the winter of 1983, Kino performed in a joint concert with Aquarium. Then Kasparyan and Gustav come to the group and Rybin leaves. In the spring of 1984, Kino opened the second rock club festival with the song "I declare my home a nuclear-free zone." Active work
In 1984, Victor, with the participation of BG and Sergey Kurekhin, recorded The Head of Kamchatka. In the winter of 1985, Choi marries Mariyana Rodovanskaya, and a year and a half later, their son Sasha is born.
The spring of 1985 was marked for the group by receiving another laureate title, then “Cinema” create the album “This is not love”, and six months later - “Night”. After the release of the album, a star named Viktor Tsoi becomes even more popular. The 4th rock club festival honored him with the best lyrics.
Filmography
A total of 14 paintings were released with the participation of Viktor Tsoi, most of which are documentaries. It all started with the short film “Ya-Khha,” in which the director R. Nugmanov suggested the musician play. In parallel, he participated in the filming of "Rock" (A. Teacher). Also in 1986, Choi starred in the cult "Ass" S. Solovyov. In September 1987, he went to Alma-Ata to shoot in the Igla film. Here Rashid Nugmanov offered him the role of Moreau - a sort of Soviet prototype of Bruce Lee. Triumph

Car accident
08/15/1990, on the highway near Riga in a tragic accident, Viktor Tsoi was killed. The official version says that the driver of “Moskvich” (Victor) fell asleep at the wheel and, flying to the oncoming lane, collided with “Ikarus”, which is why he died on the spot. After 4 days, the musician was buried at the Theological Cemetery (Leningrad). This event was a shock to millions of fans.
