Just like chicken, beans are very healthy and tasty. It includes almost all minerals and vitamins. Beans are also a valuable source of vegetable protein. Using a simple recipe "Chicken with Beans" you will prepare a tasty and healthy dish.
You should purchase the following products: chicken 1 pc (up to 1.5 kg weight), white beans 300 gr. (you can take canned 500 grams, this will significantly reduce the cooking time), tomato 3 pcs. (medium size), Bulgarian yellow pepper 1 pc., onion 1 pc., 1-3 cloves of garlic, thyme 2-3 sprigs, olive oil, salt and spices to taste.
The mood is great! We start to cook the dish "Chicken with Beans". First, cut the chicken into pieces, about 150 grams each. Dice the onion, and simply chop the garlic finely. It needs to be cut, and not passed through the garlic. So chicken with beans will be more flavorful. I recommend taking a large and deep pan. Pour olive oil into a heated pan and fry thyme twigs for 1-2 minutes. If you have not found fresh thyme, you can buy seasoning based on it, you will probably find it in the store (you just need to add it to the fried onions and garlic). The smell of this delicious spice is already appetizing. We spread the chicken in the pan, fry it until golden brown. Add onions and garlic, and fry on low heat for another 3-4 minutes. Washed and wiped dry tomatoes cut into slices and add them to the chicken. We cut the bell peppers in strips and also send them to the pan. Add some water (so that the chicken is half in the water). If you have chicken cubes in cubes - great! If not, then it's time to salt and add your favorite spices. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer for 15 minutes.
Take the beans. Which one did you choose? Not canned? Then do not forget to sort it out and remove the whole rubbish. Rinse the beans several times. To prepare the dish faster, I advise you to soak the beans in cold water for at least 5 hours, and best of all, 8. If you do not soak the beans before cooking, it will cook for a very long time and lose its shape, that is, it will break apart. Before boiling the beans, drain the water in which it was soaked and pour fresh. It is prepared without salt, over low heat, with a lid closed and in constantly boiling water. Boil the beans until they are soft. This will take about 1-2 hours (depending on the size of the beans). I advise you to put it to cook first, even before you start cooking chicken. Another little trick. Beans cook faster if you pour it with cold boiled water.
The chicken is ready. Beans too. Combine the ingredients and simmer for another five minutes under a closed lid. Chicken with beans is ready!
If you choose canned beans, everything is quite simple here. When the chicken is almost ready, add canned beans and keep on low heat for five minutes. The dish is ready, itโs faster to try!
Garnish each guest or family member with fresh lettuce and arugula leaves. Put the chicken with beans on a pillow of leaves and sprinkle with chopped herbs. You can decorate the dish with slices of bell pepper and slices of lime or lemon. Serve the chicken and beans hot.
