"Mr. President" is a popular German band that appeared in 1991. The presented band has gained popularity thanks to such compositions as Coco Jambo, Up'n Away and I Give You My Heart. The original and golden composition included Judith Hinkelmann, Daniela Haack and Delroy Rennalls. Produced by Jens Neumann and Kai Mattiesen. But first things first in the article.
The beginning of creativity
The Mr. President group was formed in Germany. The period of its appearance is accompanied by an increase in the popularity of dance music, which is called Eurodance. Multiple artists, such as 2 Unlimited, Masterboy, 2 Brothers on the 4 th floor, capture the audience - there are plenty of opportunities for development.
Jens Neumann and Kai Mattiesen see this and are looking for talented people. They turned out to be George Johnson and Daniela Haack. A month after the casting, the guys find Judith Hinkelmann, who completes the main and initial composition of the group. It should be noted that for a long time the musical career did not stick together, which led to some changes in the music. For 4 years, the “Mr. President” group has performed exclusively in clubs.
Debut album and commercial success
Everything changed after the appearance of the hit Up'n Away. The presented composition was popular at parties, which opened up new opportunities for performers. The underground hit was sent to recording studios, and it gave a positive response. The contract was quite interesting, it was impossible to refuse.
So, not only a single single is released, but also a full album. It should be noted that at that time Delroy Rennalls joined the group, significantly strengthening it. A good start to the work was complemented by the release of the single Coco Jambo (1996). The composition contained a mix of genres, including reggae, dance pop, eurodance.
The composition has become the most popular track of the band "Mr. President." The song was able to take 8th place in the UK, 21st in the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States. Commercial success was obvious and inevitable. The guys tried to maximize the benefits of such a stunning breakthrough that contributed to the recording of several more full albums. But the latter did not have the proper impact on the public, the group began to lose fans and performers.
Collapse of the collective
Over time, the music of the 90s began to recede into the background, which became the main reason for the decline in commercial success and the disbandment of many groups. The project "Mr. President" was no exception. In addition, rumors began to appear that the guys sing only to the soundtrack and do not use their own voices.
The conflict was settled, but it had a significant impact on the masses of listeners. In 1996, the album Space Gate was released; in 1999, a compilation of old popular compositions was published. In February 2000, Judith left the group, who began working solo. The collective tried to publish fresh compositions and songbooks, but a new vocalist was required. The latter appeared in the person of Nadia Ayche. With her, the album Forever & One Day was released in 2003.
The final singles of Mr. President appeared in 2006. Megamix is a compilation of all the popular songs from the beginning of the band's career. The project spoke at several interesting events, after which it sank into oblivion. Musicians in most cases began a solo career and did not give out anything unusual.
