The astheno-vegetative syndrome in the structure of depression is treated with antidepressants - dopamine and serotonin reuptake inhibitors. In asthenic conditions of endogenous origin, stimulating antipsychotics such as atypical antipsychotics and amphetamines are used. Recently, agents that belong to the group of NMDA receptor blockers have been widely used.
Astheno-vegetative syndrome is always accompanied by a decrease in productivity in human activity, this is especially noticeable with intellectual stress. Patients suffer from forgetfulness, instability of attention, poor acumen, and also can not always find the right words and sentences. Some patients try by effort of will to overcome the difficulties that have arisen, but the result is scatter in the classroom or increasing fatigue.
