"Bisacodyl" is a drug that is used to treat chronic constipation of various etiologies: which are caused by flaccid peristalsis and hypotension of the large intestine in bedridden patients, in the postoperative period, after childbirth. The drug is used to regulate stool in hemorrhoids, anal fissures, proctitis, to cleanse the intestines in preparation for surgical interventions, before radiological and instrumental studies. It is available in tablet form and coated with a special enteric coating.

The drug contains bisacodyl, which is an active substance. Auxiliary components are lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, silicon dioxide, starch, calcium stearate, propylene glycol, titanium dioxide, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose phthalate, tropeolin.
The drug is intended for internal use. It is practically not able to be absorbed in the stomach, in the contents of the intestine it is split. The laxative effect occurs after six hours, when used before bedtime, the effect is achieved somewhat later. The drug is excreted through the intestines.
