The film "The Tale of Lost Time" (its actors are familiar to viewers of different ages) for several decades has been one of the most beloved not only by children, but also by their parents. Since 1964, they have been watching a magical story about how lazy children, by the will of evil wizards, turned into old people.
Story line
Four evil wizards live in a magical forest all their lives. They are only engaged in what they do different nasty things to people. But once they understand that for their tricks they are already very old, so they decide to steal youth from those who absolutely do not value their time. Wizards find four guys who are not busy with anything useful, and turn them into old men. They themselves become young. But, having overdone with the "elixir of youth", they become children.

Petya, one of the boys whose time was stolen, realizes that he has become an old man forever. Therefore, he decides to leave all the people in the forest, where he accidentally finds a hut of evil wizards. In the hut, he sees a cuckoo in his watch and drinks it with water, which wizards have never done. In gratitude for this, the bird tells the boy what he needs to do to remove the spell. He decides to fight. But he understands that if he pronounces magic words alone, then only he will regain his youth. And the other three guys, who are also old, will remain at their new age. Therefore, Petya decides to find and save them.

This children's film was shot in the mid-sixties based on the tale of Eugene Schwartz. Initially, the film adaptation idea belonged to director Tamara Lisitsian, but during the preparatory work, the picture was given to Alexander Ptushko.
