Cinema "Illusion" is the brainchild of the State Film Fund of Russia. It is located near the Kremlin, in the very center of the capital.
In film storages equipped in a building towering on Kotelnicheskaya Embankment, there are almost seventy thousand films. Analogues of such a collection do not exist worldwide.
History of creation
The cinema "Illusion" for the first time invited viewers to watch films on March 18, 1966. The basis for its opening was the order of the chairman of the State Committee of the USSR Council of Ministers for Cinematography, published on November 12, 1965. It was there that an indication was given of the need for widespread use of the collection of films stored in pantries of the Gosfilmofond.
The main goal pursued by this order was to promote the best works of not only Soviet, but also foreign cinema. The document also instructed the opening of the Gosfilmofonda movie theater in a room located on Kotelnicheskaya embankment in building No. 1/15. Previously, the Znamya cinema was located there.
Start of activity
Cinema "Illusion" was the first non-profit cultural institution. In his work, he did not submit to the official censorship existing in those days, being at the same time under the strict control of the party organs of the capital.
From the very first days, the Illusion cinema was popular among various categories of viewers. The press began to express the opinion that this institution was a kind of gulp of freedom against the background of existing stagnant phenomena in society, characterized by toughening censorship and the introduction of various bans.
At the beginning of its activities, the cinema "Illusion" experienced constant pressure exerted by party and official authorities. This happened in connection with the exclusivity of the institution and its demonstration of a special repertoire. The cinema used non-standard forms of propaganda. From time to time the question was raised of completely shutting down the Illusion. However, the decision was never made. Public opinion played a large role in this. Such outstanding masters of Soviet cinema as Mikhail Zharov, Roman Karmen and Marina Ladynina contributed to the continuation of the cinema . Subsequently, they took a kind of patronage over the "Illusion", helping the institution to avoid critical situations.
Cinema today
Over the years of its activity, Illusion has contributed to the upbringing of several generations of viewers in the spirit of love for world classics and devotion to cinema. This activity continues today. Traditionally, various events are held in the Illusion to popularize and promote the history of film culture. In addition to watching films, viewers can attend creative meetings and festivals, retrospective shows and lectures. On any issues of cinema, consultations of scientific staff are held.
Repertoire
The cinema "Illusion" (Moscow) shows its viewers the best paintings that are in the collection of the State Film Fund of the Russian Federation. They form the basis of his repertoire.
For many years since the opening of the monthly cinema presents thematic cycles to the audience. Among them are the following:

Equipment
In the cinema "Illusion" in 2004, they reconstructed. After that, high-quality sound and lighting equipment appeared in it. New chairs were installed that have popcorn stands and drinks. The reconstruction has retained as much as possible the attributes that were in the previous "Illusion". This stucco molding on the wall and ceiling, an old chandelier, a piano, photographs and columns in the lobby. In the hall for one hundred and twenty seats there remained the sound of mono, which was there in Soviet times.
The cinema, located in the famous skyscraper of the capital, compares favorably with other similar institutions with its unique repertoire that reigns in it with a special atmosphere and a cozy cafe.
Network "Illusion"
In June 1999, the company "Cinema" began its work. In the Far East, she opened a network of movie theaters "Illusion", each of which meets international standards. In the Primorsky Territory, the company created seven such cultural institutions. The total number of cinema halls was fifteen units.
In the existing film distribution market of the Far East, the Illusion network of cinemas is in the leading position. The principle that underlies the work of the company is to maintain cultural institutions at a modern level. This allows cinemas to provide the maximum number of entertainment services to the highest standard.
"Illusion" in Vladivostok
The first cinema of this famous chain opened its doors in Primorye for viewers in 1999. It was with its appearance that the process of forming a modern film distribution in the Far East began. Cinema "Illusion" (Vladivostok) is located in the building of the Youth Theater. Its address is 103, Vladivostok Ave., 100 years. Within the walls of this cultural institution, viewers first saw more high-quality films, which were shown using the Illusion-Max technology.
For these purposes, in 2013, a cinema hall was allocated. Today, this cinema is a separate mini-complex. It has four auditoriums. The first of them is called "Illusion-Max." This is the largest hall with a capacity of 236 seats. It is interesting that the audience, having come to view in the "Illusion-Max", can occupy not only ordinary chairs, but also sofas. In the center of the hall is the “Bit Boxing” zone. It contains twenty comfortable comfortable chairs.
The next three halls of the cinema are designed for one hundred twenty one, eighty eight and ninety four seats for spectators. In these rooms there are also various zones and equipment for demonstrating films in various formats. High-quality screen paintings installed in the auditoriums have an increased brightness factor of the image.
The cities of the Primorsky Territory where you can find the "Illusion" (cinema) are Nakhodka, Ussuriysk and, of course, Vladivostok.
