Every person has encountered the problem of hair loss at least once in a lifetime. In practically healthy people, thinning and thinning of hair can be caused by stress, malnutrition and various diets, poor ecology and exhaustion of the body after infectious diseases. In women, temporary baldness occurs after pregnancy, as a side effect after taking hormonal contraceptives, with frequent staining and intensive use of thermal styling methods.
If the hair leaves the head constantly and in large quantities, a trichologist is diagnosed with alopecia. Treatment should be carried out after a medical examination, first of all, the hormonal status of a person should be checked. The most common cause of baldness is endocrine system diseases (thyrotoxicosis or hypothyroidism, adrenal cortex malfunction, increased testosterone hormone production). In other cases, they talk about the abnormal sensitivity of follicles to hadrogens - sex hormones.
There are several types of baldness: androgenic allopecia, nesting (or focal) allopecia, cicatricial and diffuse allopecia. Treatment is selected depending on the type of baldness.
Hair loss due to hormonal changes
Most often (in 95% of cases), androgenetic alopecia occurs . The treatment of this type of baldness is carried out with drugs that block the activity of the alpha reductase enzyme. This substance promotes the transition of testosterone to another form - dehydotestosterone. The last hormone causes a violation of hair growth from the hair follicle.
The drug used in the treatment of androgenic allopecia in both men and women is the drug Minoxidil. By blocking the enzyme alpha-reductase, the drug relaxes the small vessels of the scalp, as a result of which the blood flow to the hair follicles increases, and new capillaries grow in the skin. Another name for the drug is βRogainβ, it is released in 2 and 5% concentrations in liquid form and in the form of foam. The effect of treatment sometimes has to wait a fairly long time - up to 4-6 months after the first use of the drug. In complex therapy combine the use of drugs "Minoxidil" and "Finasteride", such a treatment regimen for baldness is considered the most effective.
Focal or nesting baldness
If the hair is thinning on the head with small islands, this is focal alopecia. Treatment for nesting baldness should begin as early as possible. Focal alopecia is a mysterious disease that can begin and end suddenly. The islands of baldness on the head are unexpectedly replaced by lush and thick hair, but there is a danger of a recurrence of the disease. The disease is dangerous in that it can progress and turn into total alopecia, when the hair growth on the head and throughout the body stops completely.
In complex treatment, vitamin-mineral preparations, laser and ultraviolet irradiation, head massage, ozone therapy and mesotherapy are used. Prescribed drugs that cause mechanical irritation of the hair follicles, for example, the drug "Diphenylcyclopropenone" or dibutyl ether. These medications also cause increased blood circulation, and, consequently, the nutrition of the skin on the head.
Alopecia areata: treatment with folk remedies
Burdock. The root of the plant is used, decoctions and ointments are prepared from it. To prepare the ointment, it is necessary to boil the roots and leaves of the plant until soft, grind and add fresh butter. Rub into the foci of baldness. The broth is made as follows: the roots are poured with water so that the water barely covers the medicinal raw material. Boil until soft. Every day, broth lubricates the roots of the hair.
From a mixture of burdock and willow bark, you can also prepare the following therapeutic decoction: 4 tbsp. tablespoons of the mixture is poured with a liter of water. Boil for half an hour in a water bath.
Walnuts. Grind kernels (20 pieces) and mix with 80 ml of any vegetable oil. Rub this mixture into the affected areas.
Onions, garlic and horseradish. The juice of these plants has an irritating effect on the skin and causes hair growth. You can use pure juice or mix it with an egg and olive oil (a tablespoon).
It helps to rub the hair roots with decoctions of oak bark, hop cones and decoction of needles of coniferous plants (pine, Christmas tree or fir).
If you have alopecia, treatment may not be effective without sedatives. They increase resistance to stress, which leads to narrowing of the skin vessels and hair loss. Sometimes the reception of a psychotherapist has no less powerful effect on the course of the disease than the use of medications.
