In our beloved fairy tales, all folk wisdom is collected, thanks to which we learn to live correctly. Their positive and negative characters help us distinguish truth from lies, good from evil. It is they who teach us important lessons in the educational plan and give us a true understanding of morality. So the Tajik fairy tale “Kakhna Bird” is absolutely no exception.
Short storyline
She talks about a very poor old man who went to the river every morning to fish. Having caught a pair of fish, he exchanged them for a piece of bread. So he fed with his wife. And then one day, when he was fishing again, suddenly a wonderful bird Kakhna flew up from nowhere and sat next to a tree. She felt sorry for the old man and decided to help him. She began to carry him a big fish in his beak and throw it at him in the yard. The old man began to fry fish and sell it in the market. His affairs quickly got better. He got rich and even bought himself a nice house with a garden.
The main idea of the fairy tale “Bird Kakhna”
Let us dwell a little on this moment, because if we talk about the meaning of this tale, the Kakhna bird here is a bright positive hero, symbolizing perfect nobility and goodness. She also embodies such qualities as mercy and compassion. And it is not in vain that this winged character is represented in a fairy tale. By this, the author emphasizes the resemblance of the bird of Kakhna to the angel. And after all, she really for some time becomes a guardian angel for the old man and helps him get rid of hunger and poverty.
Betrayal
Yes, at first the old man was insanely happy, but then all this became a habit and ceased to please him. He wanted more. Here the main idea of the fairy tale “Bird Kakhna” slips. But more on that later.
And once again the old man went to the bazaar to sell fish, and here the padishah’s hearer rode up to the square and announced a decree that whoever helps to catch the Kakhna bird would receive half the kingdom and the padishah’s daughter as a wife. The old man was very grateful to the bird Kakhna, but then he thought that it would be nice to have half the kingdom in addition to everything. After some deliberation, his thoughts about big profit took up above him. He conspires with the guards of the padishah, since he himself could never have caught this huge noble bird, and goes on a cunning trick, deciding to lure it, preparing her a tasty treat. The trusting bird began to come closer and closer to him. She thought that this impotent old man could not do anything bad to her. But she was mistaken.
The main idea of the fairy tale “Bird Kakhna” can also be expressed in the credulity of everyone who does good. It can never occur to anyone that they can repay him with such black ingratitude.
Pay
And a terrible betrayal happened. For its good deeds, the bird absolutely did not expect such a retribution. The infamous old man, using deceit and hypocrisy, lured a wonderful bird. After she approached the treat, he suddenly grabbed her by two legs. But the bird was very strong, it flapped its wings and took off from the ground with the old man. At the same time, guards ran out to help him from an ambush, and one by one they began to grab each other's legs in a chain to outweigh the bird and lower it to the ground. But their unkind design failed. The mighty Kahna lifted everyone into the air. There, the old man darkened with fear in his eyes, he loosened his hands and released his bird of happiness. Everyone fell and broke on stones.
Worthy Finale
It turned out a very worthy ending for those heroes who were plotting evil. Thus, death was the price of their greed. And that’s what’s amazing. It often happens that a person does not only have what he wants, and he wants more. Well, remember at least Pushkin's fairy tale about a goldfish. There, the insatiable grandmother, starting with the desire to get a new trough, eventually wanted to become the mistress of the sea, so that the goldfish herself would serve her.
So this Tajik fairy tale tells how the desire to receive even greater benefits disassembles a person from within. The old man had everything necessary for a decent life, but greed did not give him rest. When something goes easy, it is not valued. This is what the bird tale tells us. Kakhna (see the song is easy to understand) is deceived and betrayed by the main character for the sake of her imaginary happiness.
Conclusion
As folk wisdom shows, only through hard work will you begin to appreciate everything that you achieve. However, the main idea of the fairy tale “Bird Kakhna”, after various reasoning, also suggests that if the old man were grateful and humble, he would be much happier and would not agree to atrocities contrary to the laws of human morality.
The great truth lies in the fact that, helping each other, one does not need to seek material profit, it is much more pleasant to do good disinterestedly, as the noble bird Kakhna understood.
And so the amazing work “Bird Kakhka” ended. Tales of Uncle Golfman (the collective character of the storyteller in different collections) contain many more interesting and wise tales of different peoples of the world. And who knows, maybe their wisdom will help to avoid very rash acts, for which later a person may be ashamed of his whole life.
